Thais had been nervous when she approached Ser Ordhan. She hadn’t seen him for a few days since he escorted her to her room. He had peaked her interest mildly then, being such a polite, tall, seemingly experienced man. However, the mage had slept right through the feast in which she had hoped to meet up with him again. She had met up with others though, one being Conlan who was a rather rough man. Thais didn’t quite understand Conlan’s humor and it seemed to disconnect the flow of their conversations. But something Conlan had said, stayed in her memory. The mention of Ordhan being worth learning about. That combined with the advice she had received from Constans to try new ways of being social made Thais find the motivation to seek out Ordhan. She wanted to try and learn about other people that were not from the Circle without any hidden agenda driving her actions.
Ser Ordhan had been polite. It was much easier to converse with him than it was with Conlan. Ordhan spoke with an eloquence that seemed a tad familiar. Thais tried to keep her nervousness hidden as she conversed with the man. As they talked, the more interested she became.
When he offered her his sword to look at, she had been quite surprised. She didn’t expect the man to be so willing to simply hand over the item. Thais knew about swords in an academic sense and had read up spells to attach to the weapons. She practiced with a sword once before in the past, but back then her attention was focused on other things and she never developed the path of being able to wield a sword. Yet, here was a polite man willing to teach her now. She couldn’t help but want to explore the possibility, and perhaps learn more about Ordhan in the process.
“It’s rather heavy, Ser Ordhan” Thais commented as she held the hilt of the sword. She was attempting to hold the sword on her own and while she was use to carrying her staff, she found that it was more difficult to wield a sword because her hands could only rest on the hilt, “What is a standard stance?” Thais held still, awaiting instruction from Ordhan.
