Beth’s question made her nod, offering the other woman a gracious smile. “I did. It’s quite the pity that the visit was so short. I would have loved to have spent more time.” Diplomatic as her answer was, it wasn’t that much of an embellishment. If there was one good thing about her being out here, it was that she was traveling and seeing places she thought she wouldn’t otherwise have. Ferelden had some sights, not as fine or as many as Orlais, but some, and she longed to see them all.
Mirelle’s smile began as mirroring Brannan’s, carefully growing wider at the beginning, taking a flattered turn, and breaking into a laugh finally. Flirtatious banter was something she was used to and, if she dwelt on it more, missed a little. “Ah, but his plan had at one fatal flaw.” She leaned every so slightly, her tone conspiratorial but slow, so as not to have her listeners stumble over her accented tongue. “I’m terrible at hiding for very long. I happen to enjoy being caught and found.” Her lips quirked into a slight smirk, there might have been a wink or a raising of her eyebrows, the movements so subtle that it could have been nothing at all.
And just as easily as she fell into this step, she pulled back, straightening up as if she hadn’t been doing anything other than speaking plainly. Her smile to Coan and Beth was nothing but the picture of politeness. “Wandering, yes, but not looking for anything in particular. I confess that I have something of a curious streak. I know very little of Amaranthine. I thought it best to try to take it all in and explore, although I haven’t gotten very far in my quest.”
