Coan Bryland ; the ferelden noble (coan) wrote in thedas,
The Mabari had already run off before whoever was causing the commotion called his name. Frowning in confusion, Coan stood to his full height, the glare of the sun moving off a bit, enabling him to see her face clearly. "Maker...Beth!" He probably shouldn't have sounded so surprised to see her. He was the one who assured her she'd make it to Amaranthine, after all. He was glad that he had judged correctly. She was a very sweet girl, and she seemed confident in her abilities. If she specialized in healing, it was likely that she would be sorely needed. A healer was an invaluable asset in war, even more so in one that seemed to never end.
"I knew you would find your way here," excitement still obvious in his voice, though he did his best to disguise it. Following behind Noa, who was now too excited to pay attention to anything else but her snack, he looked her over like an older brother expecting to find scratches and bruises. "Your trip went well, then? Did you get to stop at Denerim before you got here?" Before he could ask anymore questions about her journey, Brannan stepped forward, clearing his throat and nudging his cousin in the side.
"So this is Beth?" He looked from Coan to the mage, his own smile forming as his eyes wandered. "While Coan spoke highly of you, he neglected to mention just how beauti-"
"Beth!" Coan cut off his cousin, slapping him on the back with an open hand a a big smile. "This is my cousin, Brannan Rowe. He's not nearly as charming as Noa." Who barked happily as she wiggled her way between them, probably looking for more crunch.
Coan received an elbow to the ribs as his cousin stepped forward, inclining his head in greeting with his own wide smile. "Hello," he greeted, ignoring his older cousin. "Have you been here at the keep long, Beth? I can't believe that I would let you escape my notice."
While Brannan did his best to work his charms on the mage, Coan caught the end of a wave of sorts, then finally realized it was Mirelle. Beth hadn't had the chance to meet her when they were at the tower, and he had only just brought her up to Brannan, so now seemed like as good a time as any to get everyone acquainted. Smiling, he waved a hello before gesturing for her to join them.
