On top of all those other superficially positive traits, the young man was polite, too. Maybe it shouldn't have been so surprising, but Beth didn't expect people of such high status to be so...nice to someone who had no social standing. He was kind in much the same way that the Warden-Commander had been, courteous and not at all patronizing. Then again, her only contact with those other than mages was with clergy, so perhaps it wasn't all that odd for her to expect any kind of respect from an outsider she was supposedly being kept from for his own good.
"I'm Beth," she smiled back at him, straightening her posture a bit and taking his dismissal as permission to look him in the eye. Should she...shake his hand? Or just keep standing there? He didn't say as much, but he must have thought her an idiot for looking so blank, as she added in, "It's a pleasure to meet you, my lord." She wasn't sure what to do next, but was thankfully distracted from contemplating manners by the introduction of the hound. Beth crouched to be closer to the dog's level, "She's absolutely gorgeous. May I?" Her hand was out, waiting to touch the dog, as she glanced back up at Noa's master for consent.
