She heard the man approaching before she saw him, though she couldn't have told you who it was without looking up. There were some in their party whose sounds she'd grown accoustomed to, but she wasn't familiar with everyone yet. She had a feeling that would come in time however.
Having finished with her bedroll, she leaned back on the balls of her feet, resting on her heels, and looked up at the man. If he hadn't been a Templar and she an apostate, she thought that perhaps she might actually like the man more than she did now, depending on his views of elves. But those two factors weren't going anywhere and they made their relationship like that of cats and dogs. Friendly when they needed to be but always on their toes around one another.
She shrugged at his suggestion, knowing that it would have been possible for her to share a tent with the Antivan trader. However, she felt better sleeping under the stars, even if the air outside promised to leave her wet in the morning. At his next suggestion, she smiled appreciatively. She recalled their exchange in the tavern and remembered that she'd told herself she'd give him the benefit of the doubt. While the stories she'd heard of Templars were enough to send chills down her spine, so far Alderic had not fit a single one of those.
"I appreciate you concern Ser Thearre, but I am far more comfortable sleeping outside," she said lightly. Just as she said those words, in the back of her mind something whispered that he wasn't concerned for her comfort but the ability to keep track of her. No, she told herself, I gave him my word I would come with him. The inner monologue caused her face to slowly move from the friendly smile it had been to a more thoughtful one. Her eyes had stayed fixed on her face and when she realized that her expression had changed, she looked away quickly, clearing her throat.
"Uhm," she began as she racked her brain for the woman's name again. "One of the other mages... a black haired woman... I can't recall her name right now... but she went to find tinder," she reported, looking over her shoulder in the direction the other woman had gone. Turning back around, she looked up at Alderic and spoke again. "She left only a few moments ago. I just thought someone other than myself should know," she finished with a small nod.
