As Johann turned around to look at her Lee met the dwarf’s smile with an even stare and a raised brow. Amused she hummed lightly in agreement. More time in the sun would be nice. Still the amount of sun she saw hadn’t been of any concern to the mage for some years now and it was strange thing to be reminded of. Brow starting to furrow she steeled herself against any morose thoughts, they would be of no help now and utterly pointless, better to simply enjoy this time now.
Stumbling lightly at Signy’s comment she stared at the young girl’s back for a moment, blinking, before she shook her head and waiting for the dwarf to finish speaking. “The sun is not unhealthy. It is good for you.” One finger rose to tap her mouth. “But,” she added, “It can hurt you if your bare skin is exposed to it for too long. Your skin can burn and in extreme cases it can blister.” She laughed lightly, nose and eyes crinkling up. “I suppose it is unhealthy then.”
Feet hit wood once more as they padded quickly across the small bridge up to the windmill and the castle beyond. Once she stood on solid ground once more her eyes were drawn to the sky beyond the castle looming in front of them and the clouds drifting listlessly through the clear blue. She had always loved the shifts in weather, the coming of storms and the sun breaking through the clouds, but for someone who had never dealt with a change in weather she supposed it might be different. Peculiar. Frightening.
Cringing suddenly as a sharp pebble bit into the unprotected underside of her foot the mage glared uselessly at the ground. Sharp rocks had just become the something that Lee did not love. Eyes focused on the ground she stepped lightly as they drew closer to the gates. Soon enough they would be at their destination and she could beg for a pair of slippers while the talks got underway.
