a thousand doors
Never was big fan of names. Titles. They remind me of characters in plays. Roles. Masks. Besides, if I told you my name, all you would ever remember me as is one word. You would relate me back to a name. You would only remember me by my name. Not who I am. Names never do anyone justice. Just bottle a person up. Neatly packaged. Another way of reducing someone down to a simple title. Stripped. As I said, I'm not a big fan of names.

By the way, I'm Elina - call me Lainey (if you must call me by name).

It's not who I am - just what I'm called.

I love meeting new people and I am much more friendly than I appear in the above statements. Give me a chance. Names optional.

Even though you said that names are just titles and you don't really dig them, I think you have a pretty cool last name.

I'm rather fond of it, too.
Am I a hypocrite now?

I've never felt concerned with names. Everything needs a name, everything is given a name. Otherwise, we'd not be able to address.. whatever it might be. All the same, you didn't come off as unfriendly, not in my opinion.

Words just never capture the essence of people and ideas. Love. Happiness. Romance. Sadness. Death. Birth. Freedom. Too simple for something so complex in nature.

I have the same feeling about names but never really could articulate what it was about them. That said, I officially changed my name from Christina Steen to just "Steena". Anyway, pleasure to meet you Lainey, namaste'

If you could articulate it - it would contradict the whole contradiction of names. Did that make sense? I hope so.

Steena is a good name, since I guess we do have to have one.

I believe that words, if used well can capture anything the user sets out to capture; but it has to be done with skill.

I can understand the significance of words and the importance in their proper use. It is simply that I don't think some words do complex ideas justice.

It's possible. I'm only human, after all.
And that is probably not as true as you want it to be. No one is that bad. And Chicago is a big place.
