When we watch cartoon cartoons, I'm happy as can be. (Open to Leah)
It was hardly as though this city was unaware that there was a lion pride in it, now. With Dane and Tanya making waves business-wise, and the rest of them making waves in pretty much every other arena available, you'd have to be under a rock to not have heard of the Seghers. It probably didn't help that they'd made the news once or twice from just wandering around the parks and streets in full lion form. It was something Claudia had them do in Africa, and now Dane apparently was thinking it would be good for Denver, too. It served its purpose well enough though, and if it brought some notoriety, it at least also got across the message that they weren't a group that was afraid of making a scene, or resorting to using their powers if they felt like it.
It was some of the same reasoning behind Aeryn's appearance in the park that day, in his lion form. He was actually on the smaller size, for his breed, but it still made him larger than a vast majority of males. Barbary lions were all but extinct now, due in part to said size, and tended to somewhat dwarf others. Aeryn was only twelve feet long (including his tail, of course), but even then it was impressive compared to most animals. Especially compared to humans. Which was exactly the point. He wanted other things in the park -- prospective babysitter included -- to be aware that he could bite their arm off without worry.
Aislyn, princess that she was, was sitting atop his shoulders, her hands in his mane, looking completely nonplussed by the situation. As Aeryn got to where he was supposed to meet the bear-owl-human, he shifted with a flash, catching Aislyn in his arms as his human form reappeared. She took the shift in stride, settling against his side as he rested her against a hip, looking at his appointment. He, of course, didn't bother trying to Americanize his accent.
