This week will last from 26 MAR 2011 - 8 APR 2011 in real time.{ WEATHER }→ The snow is starting to clear more, though the roads are still icy and here are a few dunes here and there. Clear skies most days, very low temperatures.
→ Thankfully, no fresh snow falls this week. The skies are mostly clear, leaving the nights particularly cold. It is dry with little precipitation, and sunny toward the end of the week, though still cold.
→ Highs of 38°F/2°C, lows of -4°F/-20°C throughout the week.
{ NEWS }→ The raging fire at the Waite Charity Gala makes the front news of every Denver newspaper, especially in regards to rumours that the fire was started because the event was being hosted by a therianthrope, and it was a strike against them. A day later, slivers of information are beginning to trickle out... apparently, the man who started the fire is claiming that he created the fire using his own body - there were no matches or lighters involved. Make of this what you will.
→ The Governor of Massachusetts, who came out as a therianthrope two weeks ago, resigns in the best interests of his party. He holds several interviews advising that, although he is not afraid or ashamed of what he is, he believes that the people of America should take time to come to terms with therianthropey and understand that they are still human beings before being led by one.
{ SPECIAL EVENTS }02/24 → THE WAITE CHARITY GALA
HOST: Edward Waite and The Waite Pack.On Thursday evening, Edward Waite and his pack [whom are extremely open about the fact that they are therianthropes] will be holding a charity gala to raise donations for a charity of their choice. A fifty dollar entry fee per head is required. Once you have mailed cash or a cheque in, you will receive in invitation in return, and will be allowed access to the gala.
However, there
is a catch. A certain NPC pyrokinetic paranormal is not entirely happy that a therianthrope is inviting people to mingle with their kind and, in a racist strike out against the Waite Pack, buys an invitation, enters the gala, and sets the building alight. Vampires are
just as at risk in the flames as humans and therianthropes - perhaps even
more so - and no one is safe as the characters flee for their lives...
{ BIRTHDAYS }20th → Adam Daniels → 336 to 337
{ PAST WEEK RECAP }In the past week, Molly and Phineas continued to get settled down in their new home, but were "ambushed" by Jacques one night, Phineas' brother, who took an almost obsessive liking to the fact that Molly was a therianthrope who could turn into a "cat". Matt and Layla had a little "chat", which turned into him biting her, a messy make-out, and possibly reawakened feelings. Jinx took Viatrix, whom he previously knocked up accidentally, on an adorable Valentine's date to a fancy restaurant, and they talked parenting over dinner. Cody met Damien after he had shifted at the moon, and he offered her his cell phone number for help with Viatrix. Skylar and Edyth got a chance to meet and talk a little about vampires and such, and their opinions on each. Matt questioned Mia on her failed sexual encounter with Summer, and offered her pancakes to help cheer her up. Peter, Frankie and Edyth met to talk about their plans for the immediate future and to recoop after Frankie brought down a blood trade organization and freed Faith from captivity in the process, leaving her for the police to take care of. Skylar and Grace had an awkward meeting in which she kissed him and, feeling like she was simply missing Adam and rebounding onto him, Skylar attempted to diffuse the situation. Myles came home to a cupboard full of Jacques' latest hoarded obsessions - corks - and took a stand by throwing them out; Jacques has thrown a little temper tantrum and has not spoken to him since. Summer met with his godfather Edgar in regards to his problems with Zeina, and Edgar told him that if he truly loved her, he should pursue her. During the full moon, Molly made a nuisance of herself around the house, a few nights after meeting Jack at Pulse and having him offer her the protection of the coven in return for her to act as a go-between for Pulse and the therianthropes. Frankie and Landon met for the first time after their violent fight in the alley and shared a tense drink with one another, neither backing down. Madilynn discovered an old friend, Phineas, feasting on a businessman in an alleyway - a bit of a shock, considering she had no idea for all of these years that he was a vampire! Edyth and Myles met cutely in the downtown library, and Frankie and Skylar went on a real, romantic date, cementing their relationship as something more than hot post-wound-stitching sex. Frankie and Zeina had a meeting about a Pulse member she had killed, and Zeina made it clear exactly what she thought about vampires who broke those unspoken rules and acted out. And, last but not least, Madilynn and Edgar are in the middle and a sweet dancing session!
{ OOC MOD NOTES }As you can see, we have added an overview into the weekly update - we hope this will help everyone stay on top of what every single character is doing, and give people an opportunity to offer plot should they come up with something after reading through what everyone else is up to!
Also, in regards to the charity event, the moderators will be hosting this event and NPCing the paranormal who starts the fire. You can play your characters interacting before the sabotage, or fleeing with one another for their lives. We will post further information on this event nearer to the time for you. Please be advised that this event will be posted on Sunday 3rd April REAL TIME.
