Who: Billy and Michael What: Meeting again and catching up When: Now Where: Around the TARDIS Rating: Low Status: Closed
Billy wasn’t sure what to make of this place. It was really weird. He’d met some British Prince guy who told him it was a spaceship. A fucking spaceship. A ship….. In fucking space. What the fuck was that about? How the fuck had he ended up on a spaceship? He walked down one of the corridors, toward the kitchen.
--
Michael had been there for about a week, and aside from having fun in the wardrobe room, he hadn’t done much. It was a bit boring, to be honest. But at least he didn’t have to pay for anything, and no one seemed like they’d smash his head in if he wore what he wanted. He was wearing a skirt, thigh high stockings and fucking gorgeous shoes. And it felt good not to have to worry.
He pushed his hair back out of his eyes as he noticed the guy walking towards him. He was gorgeous, with incredible arms and thighs that almost made him drool. And that was nothing. When Michael passed him, he glanced to the side at the most amazing arse he had ever seen. His jaw dropped slightly, and then he realised that the bloke had stopped. He looked up, preparing to get defensive.
--
Billy looked at the guy for a moment and then did a double take when he noticed he was wearing a skirt. His mind immediately went to Michael. He looked up at him and the guy looked really like Michael.
He turned back toward him. “Michael?”
--
Michael straightened his skirt and gave him a challenging look at first, prepared for some sort of comment on what he was wearing. He wasn’t prepared for him to know his name.
“Yeah…” he said warily. “Who the fuck are you?” He sounded Northern - definitely Durham, but who the fuck was he? It could be even worse if he was from up home.
--
“Well, that’s fucking nice. You go away and forget all your friends,” Billy said. “It’s me. Billy,” he said.
--
Michael was about to say no one could forget that arse, but then he said he was Billy. He blinked. “Billy? Billy Elliot?” He asked, his jaw dropping again.
--
“Yeah, Billy Elliot, ya prick. If that was a joke it wasn’t fucking funny, Michael,” he said.
--
His eyes widened and he looked him up and down. “No fucking way,” he said. The last time he’d seen Billy was when he came home for Christmas when they were fifteen, and he was still a lanky, skinny little lad. Though his face was a little familiar, now he mentioned it…
--
"Yeah fucking way. I think I know who I am," Billy said, very aware of the fact Michael had looked him up and down.
--
Michael gaped for a second. Of course the first bloke he'd ever tried it on with was not only straight, but grew up to be gorgeous. Of course.
“Fucking hell. I wouldn't have recognised you,” he admitted. “You were a skinny little shite back then.” He grinned. “Still dancing?”
--
"I'm still a little shite," Billy said, grinning back at him. "Yeah, that's pretty much all I do these days. What are you doing?"
--
He laughed. “Not fucking skinny. Is that all dancing?” He asked, nodding to his arms. He smiled though. “Glad you're still at it.”
“Not much, me. Live in Manchester now. Work in a shop. Better than pissing around in Easington though. You go back much?”
--
Bully nodded his head. "Yeah. All the male dancers have big arms," he said. "I fucking love it."
"Nah. Been busy. More than when I was in school but I'm busy all the fucking time these days."
--
Michael almost asked if they all had arses like Billy, but that might be weird. Billy'd been all right about it, considering, but it has still been mortifying. Broke his heart a bit too.
He smiled, though, so glad Billy still loved dancing. “You always did mate.”
He nodded. “Haven't been back in years,” he admitted. He hadn't had much to go back to - his father had made that as clear as he could without actually acknowledging the fact Michael was gay. “Your da all right? Tony?”
--
Billy nodded his head. He knew that it must have been tough for Michael there. No wonder he just up and left.
"Yeah, he's fine. Not much to be doing. Been helping out since I started working and he has Tony. Tony... Well he's Tony."
--
“Still a wanker then?” Michael said with a grin. He knew it was shit for everyone back home and he did think about it, sometimes. But he couldn't do much to help, and he was better off away from the village.
--
Billy laughed. "Yeah, pretty much," he said. "So.... What do you make of this place then? A fucking spaceship."
--
“It's fucking weird,” he said, looking around. “But ya naah, everything's free and I haven't met any knobheads, so…” He shrugged.
--
"Yeah. And there are plenty of them," Billy said. "I'm fucking starving. Was gonna make a sandwich. Wanna come?"
--
“You're telling me,” Michael said with a grin.
“Yeah, alright.” He stepped forward, smiling.
--
Billy turned around again and started walking toward the kitchen. He knew that Michael would probably look at his arse and he didn't mind. "So, been here long?"
--
Michael deliberately didn't look at his arse, because he couldn't go there again. It had been too much last time.
“About a week,” he said, walking faster to catch up with him. He had no problem walking in heels. “You?”
--
He glanced over at him. "Couple of days. Found anything to do?"
--
Michael grinned. “I like the wardrobe. Obviously.”
--
"Obviously," Billy said. "Found a place to practice myself."
--
He nodded. “Of course. Met a fashion designer when I arrived. Might convince her to make me her muse.” He smirked.
--
"Yeah? Think she will?" he asked. He kinda wanted to ask Michael if he was interested. He had been once but Billy hadn't know himself then. He figured it out when he was older. But how was he going to do that?
--
Michael shrugged. “I'd be a fucking fantastic muse,” he said with a grin.
They arrived at the kitchen. “Tea?” He said, turning on the kettle.
--
"Yeah," he said, starting to get the things needed for a sandwich. He glanced over at Michael. He had definitely gotten hot. He looked back at the bread and started making up the sandwiches. "Free food is pretty alright."
--
“Still take two sugars?” He asked as he made them tea. “Or do you drink posh shit now? Earl grey?” He asked teasingly. “Darjiling?”
--
"Do I fucking look like I drink posh shit now?Fuck off. Two sugars as usual," he said.
--
Michael laughed. “Rich tea biscuits from the co-op?” He said teasingly. “Good to know the posh wankers haven't rubbed off on you.”
--
"Some of them did. Or more like against me. For posh boys they can be fucking dirty too," he said.
--
Michael dropped the spoon full of sugar in his hand and gaped at Billy.
“No fucking way! Seriously?”
--
"Yeah, seriously. Filthy. Though they are really fucking hot," he said.
--
Michael gave a giddy laugh. “Thought just because you liked ballet didn't mean you were a poof,” he said teasingly.
--
"It doesn't. I just happen to be one," he said, with a shrug, walking over to the table with two large sandwiches.
--
Michael grinned, wiping the sugar from the counter and finishing the tea.
“Fucking hell. Didn't expect that.” He handed Billy the strong sweet tea.
--
Billy took the mug from him. "Well, I didn't know til I was sixteen meself."
--
“Clearly.” He took a gulp of his tea, trying not to think about what had happened before Billy left. That had taken a long time to get over. And even though he knew now Billy was gay too, he didn't want to go there again.
“So gorgeous ballet dancers then?” He said with a grin.
--
Billy could say he was sorry for what had happened before he left but he didn't really want to bring it up. And he hadn't known then so nothing would have changed.
"Yeah. Fucking amazing arses," he said.
--
Michael laughed before taking a bite of his sandwich. He swallowed it.
He lifted his mug. “To being massive bloody poofs,” he said brightly.
--
He lifted his mug again and clinked it against Michael's. "To being massive bloody poofs," he said.
--
He smiled, taking another gulp of tea. He loved knowing Billy was gay too. Even without anything happening, they'd grown up as best friends.
“And you have to introduce me to these filthy posh boys who like to slum it.”
--
"Yeah. I can do that. They are gorgeous. Bodies like you wouldn't fucking believe."
--
Michael’s eyes lit up. “And bendy, right?” He asked. “God that must be a good shag. “
--
"Yeah. Really fucking bendy. They were amazing. Losing my v to one of them was fucking amazing. Then we liked getting into all kinds of interesting positions together."
--
“Jesus,” he said. He took another gulp of tea, and decided he really had to talk about something other than Billy shagging blokes. Fit, bendy blokes with arses like - well like Billy's.
“So any gossip from home? It's been years since I was back.”
--
"Nah. Not much going on there. Oh, Tony got married," he said. "That's about it."
--
“Who the fuck would marry Tony?” He asked jokingly.
--
Billy shrugged. "Someone with very few other options," he said, grinning.
--
Michael snickered. “Feel sorry for her.”
--
"Yeah. She's alright. Met her a couple of times. Tony tried to fix me with her cousin. I told him to sod off. Bit of a shock when I told him I'd be more interested in her brother. You know what Tony's like. Think the ballet thing helped though. Da was sound out."
--
He nodded, snickering. “Yeah, I know what he's like.” Though Tony was a dickhead, he would probably get used to it. Billy was lucky when it came to them.
“My da wouldn't hear it. Tried. I mean. He knew.. But didn't want to know. So I fucked off. Haven't spoken since I left.”
--
"Well if ya don't mind me saying, your Da is a bollocks and you're better off away from him."
--
He nodded. “Yeah. I know.” He smiled warmly and finished off his sandwich.
--
Billy finished his sandwich. "Nice skirt, by the way," he said.
--
Michael grinned. “Thanks. Not likely to get my head smashed in for wearing it around here.” He stretched out to the side, crossing his ankles and looking down. “I mean I dress like this sometimes at home. When I'm going down Canal Street. You get out in Soho much?”
--
"Anyone try to smash your head in here let me know. I'll sort them out," he said. He shook his head. "Nah. No time. Maybe every few weeks for a night."
--
“I've been down London a few times. Just for a night or two. Next time we'll have to go down Soho together. Bring your ballet friends.” He waggled his eyebrows. “I'll wear something gorgeous.”
--
"Yeah, we can go down Soho together with me friends. I'm sure they'll love ya."
--
Michael smirked. “Everybody loves me,” he purred, posing with his legs stretched out.
--
Billy grinned. "Ya, guess that's true."
--
Michael winked at him. “Wanna go see what else there is around here?” He asked.
--
"Yeah, alright," he said, standing up and dumping his plate and mug in the sink before quickly washing them.
--
They explored the ship a bit, and it was just … good to spend time with Billy. They might be taller, older, more experienced but it did feel like the days they’d play out. When Billy said he needed to practice before they met the next day, Michael asked if he could come. He’d always loved to watch Billy dance, and he wanted to see what Billy could do now.
So he knocked on Billy’s door the next morning, wearing a pink sundress that looked like it was from the 1950s, with a full underskirt. He’d twirled in front of his mirror for a good minute before he did his makeup. He hadn’t worn any the day before, but he was wearing it today - bright lipstick and winged eyeliner. If he dyed his hair blonde he’d pass for Marilyn.
--
Billy walked to the door and opened it, grinning when he saw Michael. He had to admit he looked great.
He was wearing dance tights and a zipped up hoodie. He had a towel with him also and he was barefoot. "Come on then," he said, putting the towel over his shoulder.
--
Michael smiled back at him. “Good morning to you too,” he said. The tights looked very good on Billy. Very good. Michael stepped back.
“Where are we going?” He asked. “This way?”
--
He rolled his eyes, though he wasn't actually annoyed at Michael. "Good morning," he said. "Yeah, it's this way," he said, starting to walk in the direction of the dance studio. It wasn't that far from his room. Just a couple of doors down. He opened the door and stepped into the large empty room. There was a railing along the two sides of the room.
He tossed his towel on the floor to one side and took off his hoodie. "Make yourself comfortable then. I have to warm up." He placed his hand on the rail on one side of the room and smiled as he lifted his leg over the rail, pressing down against it, stretching out. This was where he felt at home.
--
Michael glanced at the mirrors as he walked in, smiling at the way the skirt swayed.
He glanced back at Billy. Those tights really looked good on him. Especially his arse. He forced himself not to think of Billy like that. He gave a fond smile as he sat on the floor in a corner, his dress fanning out around him.
Billy looked so happy as he did his warm up. And that made Michael happy. It was lovely to see him still just as happy to be dancing as he had been when they were eleven.
--
Billy finished stretching on the rail and then he moved into the centre of the room before he did the splits. He leaned forward on the ground stretching himself out again before getting back to his feet. There was a CD player in the room and he turned it on, classical music filling the room.
Then Billy started to dance. Fluid and perfect. He forgot Michael was there. He forgot everything. Just focused on his movements. He moved from jump to spin to pirouette flawlessly. It still felt like flying. Electricity. He was free.
--
Michael couldn't stop smiling as he watched Billy. He knew that technically Billy was amazing (even though he wasn't sure what that meant exactly). He was definitely impressively flexible, and he moved with incredibly grace.
But the thing that made Michael so happy, so proud was that he looked just as happy as he had when he danced back home. Just as joyful, just as sure. He was incredible. It was his Billy. Even with how he'd changed, how he'd grown, it was still little Billy Elliot dancing now.
He was trying not to let his mind go back down that road. Just because Billy was gay too didn't mean anything could happen. Of course Michael was attracted to him. He'd been attracted to him when he was a skinny little shite. But watching him dance made Michaels heart swell. It ached a little as the dance wound down.
When he finished, Michael applauded eagerly, beaming widely and giving a whoop.
--
Billy finished the dance and he looked jumped a little when Michael started to applaud, having forgotten he was there. He looked over at him and grinned, panting slightly.
"Well then?" he asked.
--
Michael grinned proudly. He shrugged. “You're not bad,” he said teasingly. He met Billy's eyes, not saying how proud he actually was of his friend. But he was, so fucking proud.
--
Billy rolled his eyes fondly. "Better than when you last say me anyway, I hope."
--
“Yeah,” Michael said. “Seriously. Fucking wow, Billy.”
--
Billy's grin widened. "Thanks." He was really glad that Michael had liked it. He walked over to the side of the room and grabbed the towel, wiping off the sweat.
--
Michael smiled and leaned against the wall. “How much do you practice, then?” he asked curiously. He knew that had to take a lot of work.
--
"Usually about four hours a day," he said. "It's fucking exhausting. Been ages since I had a shag."
--
Michael blinked. “Fucking hell. And performing? Yeah, I can see why you’d be knackered.”
He shook his head. “Well done, though. For getting there, for keeping it up. I’d have fucked off years ago.”
--
"Yeah. It's fucking hard work but it's worth it, ya know. I can't really explain it."
Billy grinned again. "Well, hard ta dance in heels."
--
Michael nodded. “Yeah. Definitely paid off.” He smiled.
He got to his feet, winking. “I do it every weekend down Canal Street. Not ballet, but I can definitely dance in these.” His shoes today were pink peep-toe 1950s heels, and he twirled around, dancing over to Billy with a flourish.
--
Billy laughed. "So, ya going to these dances with anyone?"
--
Michael laughed. “Nah. Go home from them with people though,” he said, waggling his eyebrows.
--
Billy laughed again. "Guess it hasn't been long since you had a shag then."
-- Michael shook his head. “Nope.” He grinned. “We’ll find you a shag when I come down to take you out in Soho.” He patted Billy’s arm with a wink.
--
Billy met his eyes for a moment. Yeah, he had a pretty good idea who he wanted that shag to be with. "Might need it before that if we're stuck here for ages."
--
Michael’s hand was still on Billy’s arm, too distracted by that look in Billy’s eyes. Was he … did he mean Michael? Part of him wanted to do cartwheels at the idea, but he took a breath and pushed it down. He couldn’t do that to himself again. Not again.
He took his hand away. “Hopefully not for ages,” he said.
--
Billy turned around when Michael took his hand away, mostly to pick up his hoodie again but also to hide his disappointment. Michael didn't seem interested in him anymore. It was disappointing but not the end of the world.
He zipped up the hoodie and slung the towel over his shoulder. "Right, I should take a shower before we do anything else today or I'll fucking stink."
--
Michael nodded. “Alright. If you need to do more I’m happy watching.” Very happy watching.
--
"Nah, you're alright. I'll come back again tomorrow. You can come then, if ya want."
--
Michael smiled. “Maybe. Not dragging my arse out of bed for you every morning,” he said teasingly.
“I’m fucking starving. Meet you in the kitchen?”
--
"Fuck you," Billy said, also teasing.
He nodded his head. "Starving meself. I'll be quick."
--
Michael nodded. “Might save you a sausage,” he said with a wink before heading to the door, his skirt swishing around his knees with every step.
--
"You better," he said. Billy headed for the door too but headed back to his room and took a quick shower. He dressed in some jeans and a blue vest before heading to the kitchen to meet Michael again. He walked inside. "Something smells fucking good in here."
--
Michael was almost finished cooking a fry for them both when Billy came in. He smiled sweetly at him. “It’s me, of course. Put the kettle on, I made enough for us both.”
--
"So bossy," Bill said but he walked over to the kettle and put it on. He started making some toast too.
--
“Fuck off if you don’t like it, and I’ll eat your bacon.” He grinned at Billy, adding the eggs to the plates and carrying them to the table.
--
Billy buttered a stack of toast and carried it to the table, then made two large mugs of tea, adding sugar to his own.
He looked at the breakfast Michael had made and knew he'd need more food than that but he didn't say anything right now. "Looks good. Thanks." He started to dig in.
--
Michael smiled at him between bites of breakfast. He wasn't being slow about getting his down him, but Billy was wolfing his down. At least he liked it.
He took a gulp of tea. “You really were starving.”
--
Billy nodded his head with his mouth full. It didn't take him long to finish the fry and 4 slices of toast. "Gonna get some cereal. Ya want any?"
--
“Nah, you're alright,” Michael said, amused. He was almost finished his and he was getting stuffed.
--
Billy grabbed a bowl, a spoon, milk and a big box of cereal. He walked back to the table and poured himself a big bowl, digging in. He didn't speak at the moment, just focused on eating. He poured himself another two bowls after that and on finishing the third in total he sat back in the chair and rubbed his stomach, letting out a loud burp. "Fuck me, that was good."
--
Michael grinned, having just been watching him.
“Yeah? Don't want a sandwich, maybe?” He said teasingly.
--
Billy rolled his eyes. "We need ta eat a lot," he said.
--
Michael grinned. “So you stay big and strong,” he cooed, leaning over to pinch his cheek.
Fuck, why did he keep touching him? Clearly because he wanted to. But he knew he couldn't.
--
"Yeah. Think these just happened?" he asked, pointing to the muscles that were very visible since he was only wearing a vest.
--
“Show off,” Michael said, moving his hand away. “Think this just happens?” He added, pointing at himself. “This figure takes work too you know. Legs like these don't grow on trees..”
He moved his feet up to rest on the table, leaning back and showing off his legs. The skirt was long enough that though it flipped up a little, he was still covered.
--
Billy took the time to let his eyes slowly glide over Michael's legs. It was okay if he did. Michael had wanted him to. Billy wondered if that meant he might still be interested. His eyes moved up to meet Michael's. "Yeah, ya got very nice legs."
--
Michael watched Billy's expression as he ran his eyes along Michael’s legs. He liked that. He liked it so much. He was trying, he was trying so hard not to want Billy. But God he did.
He grinned. “So what do you want to do today, then?” He asked as he swung his legs down.
--
Billy could think of something he'd like to do but could he say that? He shrugged. "I dunno. Any suggestions?"
--
Michael shrugged too. “More exploring? Watch a film?”
--
Billy decided maybe he should just go for it. "I can think of something ya can do. Me," he said, leaning over the table slightly.
--
Michael couldn’t breathe for a second. His heart was hammering against his chest as he looked over at Billy. God. Fuck, shagging Billy would be …
Amazing. But he couldn’t. Because of everything before. Because he’d loved him for so long - in a mostly chaste way, since they had only been kids. And looking at Billy now, of course Michael would want to shag him. But it wouldn’t be that simple. It was Billy. Michael’s heart wouldn’t be able to handle that.
“I… don’t think we should. We’re mates, yeah? We don’t want to… you know… fuck that up.”
--
Billy frowned and moved back in his chair. Well, that hadn't gone as he'd hoped.
"Yeah, we're mates," he said. He stood up and grabbed his plate, bowl, mug and cutlery and brought they to the sink, trying to focus on washing up rather than how embarrassed he was.
--
Michael winced, leaning forward and putting his head in his hands for a moment. He’d turned down Billy. Part of him was screaming that that was stupid, but what other choice did he have? He couldn’t do that again.
He grabbed a tea towel and moved over beside him, starting to dry the dishes. “I didn’t want to make it weird. Doesn’t have to be. Right?” He said nervously.
--
Billy noticed Michael join him and start drying the dishes.
He glanced over at him when he spoke. "I said no when you asked me before. Guess we're even now," he said, trying to make a joke out of it, even if he still was disappointed. He hadn't known when Michael had asked him and now Michael didn't want to.
--
Michael forced a smile, his chest aching a little at the thought of what had happened back then. He nodded.
“Yeah.” He smiled slightly. “Sorry, though. It’s just … I missed you, you know?”
--
Billy nodded his head. "Don't say sorry. Stupid of me ta think ya'd still be into me," he said, with a shrug. He looked back at the dishes. "Missed ya too," he said, glancing at him with a slight smile.
--
Michael’s stomach flipped at the smile. Fucked. He was so fucked.
“What film d’you want to watch?” He asked. He needed to change the subject before he told Billy it wasn’t stupid, of course he wanted to shag him.
--
"How should I know?" he asked, wanting to get past this too. So Michael wasn't interested, he'd get over it. "I don't know what they have."
--
Michael flicked him with the tea towel. “Okay, we’ll go look,” he said. He smiled, finishing the last dish. “Popcorn? You must still be a bit peckish…”
--
"Watch it," he said, when Michael flicked him with the towel. He gave him the finger when he said he must still be a bit peckish. "You're just jealous," he said. "But yeah, popcorn."
--
Michael grinned. “Please, my legs are amazing,” he said. He moved over to make some popcorn.
“Too early to have a lager, you think?” He asked.
--
Billy shook his head. "Nah, I don't think so," he said. "You make the popcorn, I'll get the lagar."
