Who: Jesse and Claire What: Post-Valentine's Day Bail-out When: Wednesday morning, early Where: Babylon PD Rating: PG-13 Status: incomplete
Claire knew how to operate on little to no sleep. Nursing school was full of all-nighters, just as much as being on-call in the ER could be. Last night, however, was not supposed to be one of those nights. Though she had anticipated not getting a full night's sleep, having gone out clubbing with Jesse, getting an hour or two in her jeep while she waited for eight A.M to roll around, was not what she planned.
On so little sleep, the night was still very fresh in her mind. The hard shove that knocked her and her drink into the dance crowd; the drunk asshole who'd tripped into her, and Jesse's explosive temper afterward. The fists were flying before Experience security could get to them, and the two tumblers were packed into a police cruiser headed for lock-up soon after.
Claire was told Jesse had to be processed before they could let him go on bail, since the guy he'd tried to beat to a pulp was pressing charges. So, she begrudingly went back to her apartment, showered and changed, sucked down more coffee, then headed back to the station right before the sun started to rise. Now it was eight-ten, and she'd just finished filling out the paperwork to pay five hundred dollars for the bond to get Jesse out of lock-up. She didn't make small-talk with the gal in uniform behind the desk, didn't address the scorning look from the deputy who went to church with her, and had gone to high-school with her. She just leaned on the wall and waited for them to bring Jesse up from the back.
