Who: Grace and Gus What: Lunch and Case Discussion When: Monday, Lunchtime Where: Al's Rating: Low Status: Incomplete
Grace was excited about lunch. Not only because it felt like it had been an age since she'd seen Gus last, but because he also had a case to discuss with her. It was pretty slow at the agency these days. Evidently, her mother's death had meant the very slow death of the agency as well. It bothered her more than she liked to admit. Her pride took a hit each day that passed without a new case to look into.
When she'd received the text from Gus, it was like a God send. Sitting around the office doing homework felt less than productive, even though she was keeping up with her studies. She arrived a few minutes early and took a booth in the corner. She looked over the menu, even though she already knew what she was going to order. French fries and a black bean veggie burger.
She kept glancing at the big front windows, watching for Gus. The fact that her aunt had taken him on as her charge wasn't at the forefront of her mind, but it was there. She knew Gus would be protected now, and that set her mind somewhat at ease. She didn't need all her friends meeting the same fate as her mother.
