Yuuka walked quietly up to the sign. In her hands, a large sunflower in a pot, which she sets on the ground next to her. She smiles, and looks up at the sun. "My, such a beautiful day, even in this urban setting."

She looks over at the sign, and smiles again. "Ask a question. A quaint tradition. I suppose I shall partake in it. What would you say is your favorite place in nature? Not a single location, but rather, a locale, be it forest or prairie."

Sarah stands at the Sign, hands deep in her pockets as she mulls something over. After a while, she speaks up. "So...you know the phrase 'first world problems'? Where something's only an issue because you have the luxury to consider it one? Has anyone here ever had a 'Nexus problem', where it's the only damn kind of thing that could happen here?"

There's currently stuffed animals scattered across the Nexus. They look innocent enough, but this being the Nexus, they cause LOLs. They turn whoever touches them into whatever the animal may be.

Envy had actually found the Nexus a few days before and elected to check things out before obeying the sign.

He leans against the sign, and keeps an eye out for responders. "What do people think about pets?"

Ed sits on a couch out in the Nexus, legs drawn up, arms wrapped around them, and with his chin resting on his knees. After quietly watching the going ons for half an hour, he finally lifts his head to speak up. "Has anyone gotten something they wanted but at what they consider too high a price?"

The Nexus: where talking to oneself has new and exciting meanings. [May. 30th, 2011|08:51 pm]

Alternates aren't unusual in the Nexus. This one's not an Elric, though, or connected to that universe.

Zel seems to be arguing with his alternate under the Sign. Thankfully, you can tell them apart -- the usual Zelgadis is dressed as he normally is, in tan head-to-toe. The newcomer has swapped out an orange T-shirt for his normal long-sleeved tunic, and is missing his sword-belt.

The other one is also human. This is relevant. Remember it.

"-full of shit," chimera!Zel was saying. "You can't-"

"I'm you, you idiot," human!Zel interrupted. "Plus eight months of my own time, and years of yours. It wasn't worth it, and you'd probably say the same damn thing if you were me."

"I would not. Probably not."

"Are all alternates this insufferable?" The two managed to ask the question in unison.

[Since human!Zel is my Zel formerly from Sabra La Tau, he has his own account.]

"Ask a question..." Akane could be seen hovering on a broom (yes a broom and in full witches ceremonial garb no less) in front of the flashing, neon sign. There was a look of pure concentration on her face as she divided her attention between the statement and flying, because the jerking broom seemed to have a will of its own, "who am I supposed to ask a question to? Oh...well that was a question wa-oooh!"

The broom dropped in altitude forcing Akane to concentrate more on flying than on the sign. Once she righted herself again and stabilized the broom she descended slowly to the earth, "I'm usually pretty good at this sort of thing, but flying is just...oh..." Akane fixed her gaze back on the sign again, a good question having come to her this time, "alright! Say you're the kind of person that things just come naturally to, certain tasks or in this case magic though you don't have to use magic...so say these tasks are normally easy for you. What would you do if found out you had trouble with a certain element of that task? I guess, in my case magic comes pretty naturally to me, but I have trouble with flight spells."

She glanced around, not really expecting an answer to this question and she felt kind of silly asking it to herself.

And bathed every vein in such licour, Of which virtue engender'd is the flower; [Feb. 8th, 2011|08:33 pm]

Someone had pushed a flowercart into the Nexus, under the Sign. A cheerful banner proclaims "Happy Valentines' Day!" with other signs saying "Sweets for your Sweetheart" and "Flowers for your Flower" . Buckets of water stand inside the cart, filled to the brim with roses of various colors. On either side stand stacks of chocolate boxes and racks of bags of conversation hearts. The entire thing is done up with more pink and hearts than a little girl's bedroom. There's no attendant in site, nor are prices marked.

[OOC: LOL Instructions: The roses' thorns are extra in-the-way and able to pierce through anything, and one prick (stop snickering) will cast a spell of altered emotion on the holder. Your choice who it affects: first person seen, changing the character's strongest relationship... whatever seems like a good idea. Here's how the flower colors match up:

[
Red: love
White: reverence/loyalty
Yellow: friendship
Pink: admiration
Orange: passion/lust
Lilac: infatuation

[In departure from Nexus tradition, the candy is safe, free and utterly delicious. If you want to risk eating food lying around in the Nexus, that is.

[Current Mood |working]

Dante has once again returned to the Nexus. Now that she has made some plans, she intends to carry them out. Even if she isn't quite certain what she intends to do with Sarah yet. Merely use her to manipulate Edward into returning or moving house. Perhaps both.

As it is, she'll not ready to remove the illusion of benevolence quite yet. Even if her question could imply otherwise.

"What would you do if someone who turns out to be unreliable caused the delay of plans you made for an indeterminate amount of time? And how would you punish them if they are someone you have authority over?"

Zelgadis is boredly staring at the sign.

"Here's something. Who do you don't want to see here at the Nexus?"

[Current Mood |determined]

A confused young man walks into the Nexus main area, looking slightly out of sorts. He looks around and sees the big sign, and thinks that's the last thing he wants to do- ask a question.

But it seems there isn't much choice, so he fumbles around in his brain for a minute and then smoothes back his long green hair, trying to appear poised.

"Have you ever, in your life, found yourself lower than you'd thought possible? If so, how did you survive?"

First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye debated for nearly a half an hour about speaking up, staring at the sign from a healthy distance as she argued with herself. But it was either time to speak up, or time to go home, and that option made her finally decide to ask what was on her mind.

"Have you ever been in a situation where you were a party to causing a great deal of harm to someone else, someone who did nothing to deserve what happened to them, and you were in a position where stopping it from happening was not an option, but you're still just as guilty as everyone else involved?"

"Oh, my, this is certainly an interesting place." The woman standing there was tall, slender, and graceful, with dark hair and eyes. She held herself in a poise that suggested aristocratic breeding and schooling, and her speech was excellent, if harboring a somewhat strange accent.

"Ask a question?" She considered the sign and smiled. "Are there any parents here? How do you cope with having a child with... shall we say, special needs, when you are living in the public eye?"
