Enter The Housewife.

"--is, honey?" a woman just walking into the Nexus says. When the change of locations registers, she comes to a halt and frowns. "What just happened?"

She looks at the sign, winces at the assault on her retinas and looks away. "A question, hmm? I believe the previous one can be skipped for now."

She folds her arms across her chest, looking distinctly unamused. "What do people think I should do about my idiot apprentice that disobeyed my teachings to run off and become a State Alchemist, therefore putting himself in the hands of the military?"

Edward sighed. "Hello, Teacher. It's been awhile. I rather suspect that in my world, you're dead, so this is a double-edged treat. You're in the Nexus, where all possibilities meet up. My father's parallel worlds theory was not just a theory, but a reality. In my world, I got killed and Al died bringing me back. In fact, in quite a few worlds around here, my alternates got killed and brought back to life, though not usually at the expense of their brothers."

"I believe, it holds true for most worlds similar to mine that Envy killed me. He was Dante and Father's son from their marriage centuries ago. He caught me off-guard and killed me. Al had the Stone at the time, and used it to resurrect me before my soul dissolved into the All, at the expense of himself. In most worlds, my alternates were able to rescue him by trading themselves back over. I was unsuccessful with that and merely ended up in the world on the other side of the Gate."

	Edward took off his glasses and cleaned them on his shirt. "I keep busy. If I'm not working my job, I'm reading. I've found somebody to share my life with, such as it is.
