a hero will save us just in time
There's a man in a brown cloak and green clothes sleeping on the back of a horse that's meandering towards the sign. Epona looked around, snorted, and stopped by the sign rather abruptly, waking the man on her back.

Link snapped awake, blinking somewhat blearily. "Did we get to Termina already, Epona?" he asked, yawning. Then he took stock of his surroundings. "Where are we?" He slid off of Epona's back, one hand on his sword hilt as he investigated the area, Epona sticking close.

Then he noticed the sign. "Ask a question," he echoed, reading out loud. "What, besides the obvious 'where am I'?" He looked around. "All right. I guess this is customary around here, better stick with local customs. Have you ever been away from home for a long time? What's it like going back?"

Sarah chuckles a bit. "Yeah, I wound up becoming friends with them afterward, but I still felt kinda embarrassed about the whole thing. And I get kinda nervous sometimes telling people about the whole fiction stories thing, since...well, a lot of those stories air some dirty secrets or personal information that you usually wouldn't be comfortable with strangers knowing, ya know?"

	"Yep, substitute teacher, technically. I fill in for other teachers in large schools when they get sick or can't come in for other reasons. And I usually work with kids just hitting the early teen years, so attitude is unfortunately very much a problem. Tsuri's able to help me monitor the class for trouble-makers, though, so it's not as hard as it could be." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Sarah chuckles. "Legal adult age is a bit higher in my home country, eighteen. Law requires we keep going to school and learning higher forms of math and science until you've been in school...twelve years, I think. After that you can still go to college to learn more to prepare for a specific career, but instead of the government paying for your education you pay the school yourself."

She laughs. "Well, as time and technology advanced, the world got more complicated to make a living in in if you didn't have enough schooling. I don't remember how long ago the current school system was put in place in my country, but it was mostly the same at least fifty years ago. And there's also the fact that I happen to come from a very fortunate background, since my family was well off and lived in one of the most advanced countries in the world. Until a few years ago, we were pretty much the head of the global economy, so citizens tend to have a lot more luxuries and advantages available to them."

--urk. "...oh jeez, that kinda sounded like I was talking down to you, didn't it. Sorry!"
