Have an(other) Elric, Nexus!
There is an Edward Elric in the Nexus, studying The Sign. This one seems different -- maybe not as much as the genderswapped ones some. Is it the fact his coat looks more like a robe? Is it the fact he's merely 'on the short side' rather than 'fullmetal chibi'? Is it that both of his hands appear to be flesh?

Maybe it's the antennae -- not just a stray bit of hair sticking out of his bangs, but two thin, almost insectlike strands poking out from within his hair.

"Where..." he shook his head. "No, I don't want that to be my question. I'm looking for someone. Can anyone help me out here?"

"Heh. Thanks. My acting like a normal person tends to be when you aren't around to see, by the way."

Edward sighs. "I had a feeling," he says. "My luck works that way."

Ed grins. "That's what you get for being a hermit. I'm more social, so I spend more time out in the Nexus."

Edward frumps. "I am not a hermit," he protests. "I get out! I just don't get away from the grounds much because I'm busy taking care of that place for all of you ungrateful brats," he says, completely without seriousness.

"Uh-huh," Ed says dryly. "Just in case I haven't told you before, I know of at least one time when my Al and Sarah were tempted to do the 'carrot with a stick' thing to lure you outside, except using an alchemy book instead of the carrot."

Edward had not heard about this. He stares at his alternate for a second. Then he introduces his hand to his face. "I'm gonna throttle them."

"Please don't. Because then I'll have to throttle you, your own Al and certain others will feel compelled to do the same to me, and it'll be a big mess," Ed says mildly. "You can do the 'random training session' thing to Sarah though. She knows to expect those from my brother and I now. So you sending her sailing through the air ought to come as a surprise."

Edward looks at his alternate for a second. "So I can't throttle her, but I can randomly send her flying? You have weird standards."

"Well, I guess I can go looking for a version of Teacher instead..." A beat. "Or not. I want Sarah to learn how to defend herself, not be petrified into immobility."
