god, it's been quiet around here. let's shake things up.
Envy has been silent and keeping his head down in the Nexus since he got here about a month ago- Envy's not exactly the sort to go diving headfirst into something unknown, and since this is Envy we're talking about- shapeshifter and forever-people-watcher, it's doubtful he's been noticed.

However, he thinks things are getting boring around here. So it's time to get a question out there that will stir up rants and drama.

Best subject- coworkers everyone hates. Envy perches up on the lower edge of the sign's base. "You know that coworker everybody hates? Whaddya do with them besides kill them?"

...oh, goody. Everyone's favorite homunculus to hate. Really, Nexus, if you're going to start up the spawning pool for their universe again would it be too much to ask that no more of Envy show up? Ed's already got more than enough with the ones he has to deal with.

"I don't know, avoid them like a sane person would?" He scowls up at Envy with his arms crossed. "Though asking you to think like that is a bit much, huh?"

Envy gives Ed a bored look. God, there are a lot of these guys around. "Pissy little bastard, ain'tcha?" he asks with a sneer. "You're like those damn yippy dogs- fucking bitty, and all over the goddamn place."

Well, you'd best get used to them, Envy. You'll be seeing them a lot.

"WHO THE HELL'RE YOU CALLING A TINY CHIHUAHUA YOU COULD PUNT LIKE A FOOTBALL?!" You'll also be giving them aneurysms, apparently.

Envy howls with laughter, nearly falling off the sign. "Well, at least you pups make up for it by being fun." He snerks, keeping a grip on the edge he's sitting on, several feet above Ed's head, for the record. "So when is someone gonna be assed to explain who the hell you twerps are and why the hell I oughta care about you?"

Oh hey Envy. Unlike the shorty up there, this chain-smoking psychopath doesn't know you, and therefore doesn't have any preconceived notions about you!

Cue the slow blink. Okay, Envy's seen alternates- multiples of those... whatever the pipsqueaks are called. But this is the first time he's seen an alternate of himself, and it's just briefly a bit... disconcerting. And somewhere at the back of his head, he can't help but feel kinda sorry for this place now.

"Hard to mindfuck someone who's too damn crazy to mindfuck," he says. "But for the sake of hypothetical?" He grins. "After. Mindfucking's a given."

Oh, wonder-fuckin'-ful. Another Envy. Why can't it be someone fun, someone who bullets will do something about, like maybe Archer? She still felt she hadn't shot the one from her world enough, just on principle of the matter.

Riza almost left the area ASAP, except his question, and his reaction to the other Edward there made her eye him in curious suspicion. Envy was a decent actor - she'd been on the receiving end of it once - but she couldn't imagine him being that good as to act completely unconcerned and oblivious to any Ed. This bore some investigating.

She crossed her arms. "Considering the source, I can't say I'm the slightest bit surprised to hear you've got issues with your 'co-workers'. Who is it? Pride, perchance? Sloth? Greed, maybe? Or Lust or Gluttony?"

Now Envy's getting a bit irritated at all these people that know him- where the hell were they in the last month he's been stalking the place for him to find out who they were, anyway? -without any reason for it, and nobody's actually explaining shit. He might have to hold someone down and beat information out of them at this rate.

"Zero for six, you're not very good at this," he replies flatly, eyeing her, trying to think if he'd ever even seen her at the sign before. "And who said the question was for me?" He flashes her a toothy grin. "I just wanted to see people get their panties in a twist over their own problems. You humans are funny when you're ranting about shit that doesn't matter."

((Note: apparently the six was the mun's mistake, so pretend he said five.))

"Hmm. That leaves Wrath. He was a very irritating little hyperactive brat from all accounts." Riza shrugged. "Usually the 'it's about someone I know' is a thin veil around here for 'it's really about me'. I always got along with my immediate co-workers. The rest, I merely ignored because they weren't worth my time or energy, and given the rank of some of them, they were better left to my superior to deal with. I do not, as you so... eloquently put it, tend to get my 'panties in a twist'." She studied his expression. It was very definitely Envy, but... it lacked the same aware hostility that she'd become accustomed to seeing.

"What sort of Amestris are you from?"

((I fail at maths. :( I R NOT SMRT.))

Envy makes a face. "'He'? More like she's a psychotic rabid dog, but hell, we'll run with it." He shrugs. "And I wasn't really looking for advice on her. I get pissed at her, I just lock her in her cage and smack her with a stick. Tends to shut her up."

Well, at least someone besides his own alternate is willing to figure out wtf is going on here. He shrugs. "Amestris. You know, duchy, the old bitch been ruling too damn long? Year sixteen seventy-nine? Why?"

Yeah, he's lacking some of the subtle finesse of his older alternates. Don't mind him, he's only three-and-a-half years old eighty years old as a homunculus.

"Sometimes other people can be difficult to work with. My best recommendation is to just ignore them. If they make the job too stressful, maybe consider a career change. If I ever got tired of working a grill or serving drinks at a bar, there's always tire sales. It's not very stressful, and I can't think of many better jobs than making sure someone's got a good set of wheels to keep them safe on the road."

Life is naturally stressful. I didn't see the point in seeking out situations to aggravate its natural tendencies.

"It wouldn't be very accurate for me to say that I can't complain, because I have," I admitted. "Everyone's lives have their own problems which seem as big to them as mine do to me, so there's really no point or reason to try for sympathy. But every so often, it's a little disconcerting to be flipping pancakes during breakfast rush hour and look up and see someone with an axe buried in their head sitting at one of the tables waiting for me to notice them."

Or pretty much any job I've gotten in the Nexus, short the one time I did security for a bar for a bit. Some advice -- don't take work here, unless it's a well-established business. Especially if the person suggests she has your heart's desire or something like that." Zelgadis sighed and continued talking.
