"What's the best way to study for a test?" Because if she stares at these study guides any longer today, her eyes are going to cross.

"Flashcards. I love flashcards." Sarah holds up a black plastic card-box and brandishes it with a grin. "Questions on one side, the answers on the other, means you can quiz yourself whenever you like. I keep going through them until I can answer them quickly, and then I know I'm ready for the test."

"Flashcards are great!" Anne smiles back at her. "But have you ever tried them for something like standardized tests? I'm taking the MCAT soon, and I want to get a great score." And hopefully a scholarship too.

"Oh wow, no, I've got another year or two until I have to do grad school tests, thank God!" Sarah grins a little sheepishly. "Um... well, if the study guides have practice tests, that's flashcard material right there, though, right?"

"Hey now! Don't I wish I had more time! I mean, I looked at some practice tests last year, but I had so much studying to do otherwise that it kind of got pushed to the side." And then she met Ryan, too, and she loves to study him.

"There are, but I'd end up with like five thousand flashcards!" And the card box she'd need would be HUGE!

"I uh... made about that many last year, to study with." Sarah grins and blushes a little, aware that she's a geek that way.

"Me too! But adding the MCAT ones on top of everything is pretty daunting, you know?" Fellow geeks unite and take over! "What's your major, if you don't mind me asking?"

"If you have enough time, try to study when you're going to be taking the test. Also, you want to take some breaks."

"I like the part about the breaks... a LOT!" In fact, she'd like to have more breaks, if possible.

"It can't be all breaks, the time studying should be much more than the time spent taking a break"

"True, though it's nice to imagine that there could be... I'm just getting so tired of reviewing the same things over and over again, you know?"

"How long do you have until the test?"

"A few weeks still, thankfully. It's the MCATs though, so not for a class... and that's a whole different set of tests next month."

"Then you only need to study for a couple hours every day at most. Don't burn yourself out before the test."

Talk about it with other people who'll be taking the same test.

"Good idea. I do have a study partner, and he's a very good one, but um... sometimes we end up ah, not studying." Ooops. Is someone blushing? Yes, yes they are.

"I could try that, yeah. It's a standardized test though, so unfortunately we don't have notes from classes we can go through together."

"The standardized test thing? It's like a national -- er, international really -- test that everyone takes to get into college or grad school, or medical school. So we know what kinds of questions will be on it, but not what the actual questions will be."
