Welcome to The Muse Awaits:
the_muse_awaits is a muse-based prompt writing community which was inspired by Theatrical Muse and Character Loft. Our goal is to bring our writers a variety of quality prompts that will delight and inspire the muses. the_muse_awaits will have dialogue, quote, photo, situational, and writer's prompts to choose from. If you have a fantastic idea for a prompt, let us know here at this post.
The Rules:
- the_muse_awaits is open to all fandoms. - Original characters, fandom-based or not, are also welcome. - Real person muses are also allowed but any such muse must have a disclaimer in their user info stating they are not in any way associated with the actual person. - Please do not post announcements or any other OOC business in the main community. The OOC community, is to be used for any such posts. - While this is not a role-playing community per se, RP-ing among characters is encouraged. RP matters, however, are to be considered private between the writers and the mods will not moderate them. - the_muse_awaits is drama free. This is not an option, it is the law of the land. If a writer causes any type of drama, the mods reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban that writer.
How do I join?
Click on the join button above. That's it. Once you join, feel free to start posting with your character's journal. Oh, yes, just let us know here so we can make a tag for your character. Thanks.
What can I post?
Pretty much anything that catches your character's fancy. That said, if it's graphic heavy, or contains mature themes, we do ask that you label your post with warnings and place the content behind a cut tag.
Prompts?
Are posted each weekend, usually Saturday, in a set. You can answer any of them, all of them, and/or past prompts. Find past prompts: here. Suggest a prompt: here.
How often do I have to post?
Whenever the inspiration strikes your character[s]. We're here to write and to play, to create and inspire, not be the net nanny. Have fun, make mistakes, get messy.
