Who: Marcus and Daphne
Where: Deck
What: First Meeting
When: Just after they both arrived
Rating: TBD
Status: Closed/Incomplete

Marcus had woken up in this strange place and panicked. He didn't like being lifted out of his bed at home and brought to some place else. Some place he didn't recognise. Well it was a ship but he didn't know anything else. He had flipped through the journal he had found and saw a few people writing things but what they were talking about didn't make any sense to him so he just closed it. He wouldn't jump into something if it made no sense to him. He wasn't that sort of guy. So instead he decided to go explore.

Wondering the ship he found a few things- including the Quidditch Field which was awesome but he couldn't imagine spending a lot of his time here. He hoped he wouldn't have to. He was turning a corner when he stopped. It couldn't be who he thought it was. "Daphne?" he asked hoping it was her. It would be fantastic to actually know someone on this ship.

Daphne turned at the familiar voice, the panic that had been building in her slowly ebbing. "Marcus." His name was said in a sigh, relief spreading across her face. "Dear Merlin, where are we?" She rubbed her hands across her arms, as if trying to keep warm. She had come to this place the same as Marcus, waking up in an unfamiliar bed. She hadn't explored her room much, but stepped outside in hopes of finding someone to explain the situation. And here she found Marcus.

She still had a week until she became Mrs. Daphne Flint, but the thought of being tied down to one man was not appealing. She rather liked Marcus and thought it was a smart match, but it definitely was not a love marriage. But seeing him here, she felt something entirely different.

Marcus was so relieved to see her there. He had been terrified upon waking on the ship and thinking that he would never see her- any of their friends for that matter- again. Sure he didn't love her but they were friends and that was what mattered to him. Seeing her though made him hope that others would be there too but even not he was happy- more than happy- to see her.

"You don't know? I was hoping you would. I have no idea," he told her. "Well apart from it being a ship in the middle of nowhere of course," he said with small shrug. It wasn't much but it was somethin.

Daphne sighed, turning to look at the water that surrounded them on every side. "You don't think this was a prank before the wedding do you?" she asked, wrapping her arms around herself. "Mother would faint if I was found missing so close to it." Her marriage to Marcus had been all her mother could talk about since the arrangement. It had driven Daphne crazy and she was ready to move out almost as much as her mother wanted to see her little girl married.

"Did you find yourself in a strange room?" she asked, looking at Marcus.

"Before the wedding? We were married three months ago," he said blinking in surprise. That didn't make sense. Why would she say that?

"Though yes I did find myself in a strange room. My things were there too," he said "It makes no sense. Why would someone do this and where are we for that matter?"

"What do you mean?" she asked, her turn to be curious. "We still have a week before we're married!" She wanted to reach out and feel his forehead to make sure he was alright, but decided against it.

"I didn't actually look around mine," she said. "I thought it was just some kind of prank and walked out to see what was going on." She sighed and looked around, but found no one else. "Maybe we can look for other people together. I mean, two's better than one, right?"

"A week? We've definately been married for three months. Are you feeling alright?" he asked concerned.

"Thats true and surely we can't be the only ones. The rooms had names on them though I didn't really pay attention to them," he admitted to her.

"No, I'm not feeling alright!" she said, rather impatiently. "I get taken from my rather nice bed and wake up on a stiff mattress and starched sheets. I then realize that we're on a ship with no trace of land. And now you're telling me we've been married for three months when I recall no wedding of the sort and believe me, I WOULD REMEMBER!" She took a deep breath and gave him a pouty face, folding her arms over her chest.

Marcus realised that was probably not the best thing to say. Well he often said things he regreted later. "No I remember three months of marriage," he said looking at her confused. "I remember it all but how can you not remember?" he asked confused.

She shook her head, getting rather annoyed. "I don't know," she said. "And truthfully, I don't care right now. I just want to go home and sleep in my own bed tonight!" Her childish manners were beginning to come through. She had always been lucky in getting what she wanted and she thought that if she complained enough here, it would work as well. Sadly for Daphne, it would not.

Marcus completely agreed with that sentiment. His own bed sounded absolutely wonderful at that momemnent. He just unfortunately had nmo idea how to get there or where he was to begin with. "That would be nice," he said whistfully. "Very nice indeed."

"Well, what do you think we should do?" she asked, looking at him. Daphne wasn't much of a leader, but liked to follow others, especially when it required less thinking power of her own. Marcus was definitely one of those people she would follow. She always convinced herself that it was because he would soon be her husband; shouldn't a dutiful wife follow in her husbands footsteps?

"I don't know," he said with a shrug. "AllI want is answers," he admitted to her. Otherwise he wasn't that focused on much well- well apart from the fact that she was here with him. That was good. Though he still didn't get why she thought that they weren't married.

"Well, we can't seem to find anyone and I don't know what else to d-" Before Daphne could go on any further, a familiar figure seemed to appear by their sides. Daphne had to blink a couple of times, before she realized it was their old Headmaster, Dumbledore. She stared at him as he went on to tell them about the ship, how it worked, and what to find in their rooms. Well, this was certainly different. She was completely blown away and couldn't think of any questions to ask when he had finished. Instead, she looked to Marcus.

Marcus started to nod at what Daphne was saying when they were joined by Dumbledore. As the headmaster spoke he just stared at him in shook. That made no sense at all. He had always thought he was crazy and this proved it... but they were on a ship so who truly knew. Perhaps it was the truth. "What?" he asked in surprise.

"So the reason I believe we still have a week until our marriage and Marcus believes otherwise is because it's true?" She looked at Marcus, not sure what to think. "This is all...a little too much."

Marcus nodded... he supposed that made things make a bit more sense. Not that it was making any sense now even with the answers they had. "It is," he said blinking. It took a lot of effort to even form those words he was that much in shock by this all.

Dumbledore smiled at the two, but it did little to calm Daphne. She really didn't have much else to ask and there was nothing more for Dumbledore to say. She watched as he walked away from them, turning to look at Marcus.

She fidgeted a little, not sure if she should ask what was on her mind. Although they were married from his time, they weren't in hers. Would it be strange?

"Marcus," she said, looking down at her shoes, then glancing back up at him. "Do you think, given the circumstances of what has happened, I could stay with you? I mean, it could only be for a night if you'd like, but...well, I just don't want to be on my own right now."

"Of course," he said immediately not even thinking about it. In his mind they were married and he would expect nothing less from her. Plus after all of this? He doubted either of them wanted to be alone at the moment. He was still in shock from it all truthfully.
