Who: Pansy Parkinson and Draco Malfoy
Where: Their Room
When: afternoon
Why: Pansy has news
Rating: PG
Status: Closed/Incomplete

Pansy sat curled up under the covers, still a bit in shock about the few days. First she was a pirate, and now she was well... she didn't want to think about it until Draco was there and they could talk about it. She slowly sipped her tea, happy that the healers had given her a clean bill of health. It was one less thing to worry about, and now she had to worry about Draco.

She flipped on the telly, quickly bypassing the Food Network and over to watch some makeover show. She knew Draco would change it the moment he came in, so she wasn't terribly interested.

Draco walked into their room about ten minutes after Pansy had asked him. He had stopped to get a muffin from the cafe. He wasn't sure if Pansy would want any though, so he left it in the bag on the table.

He offered her a half smile, not liking the way she looked curled up on the bed. He pushed his shoes off and climbed on the bed himself. He put an arm around her and brought her closer, noticing what was on the telly at the same time. He frowned and took the controller, flipping it to a news show. "So, why are you so sick?" he asked, settling in.

Pansy knew him. She knew him far too well. She turned over and laid her head on his chest. She was worried that Draco might react badly, even though this was his idea. Still, things were different now. His son was talking to him again, and having a child might not be the most important thing anymore.

It was enough to drive her nutters.

"Because, love, we are going to have a baby in June." There was no need to draw it out. "The healers say I am healthy, the baby is healthy and everything is normal."

It took Draco a few minutes to process what she was saying. He hadn't really expected it after the whole pirate issue. He was thinking that she was sick. For a few minutes, he just sat there, letting her lean on him.

"We are having a baby?" he asked. It sounded strange in her ears. "You and I are having a baby. The sickness is from that?" He did know some of what a woman's body could go through, but he was still surprised. "You also saw a healer." He arm crossed his forehead, not sure what to say.

Pansy felt like pulling away from him. He was supposed to be happy, and this was his bloody idea and now he was... She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "I'm due June 25th. I did see a healer. It's called morning sickness."

She bit her lip and looked at him. "I thought you wanted this."

Draco was quiet. He really didn't know what to say. He was happy, but the last time things hadn't went so well. It was a huge disappointment even if she had just been late. "That is near my birthday. It will be a great birthday present," he offered, with a small smile. "I wonder if it will be the girl that you want?"

He realized the question that she asked, another delayed response. "I do want this. I just wasn't really expecting it." He picked up her hand and threaded his fingers though it, kissing her forehead gently.

Pansy smirked, happy that he was at least not upset, "Well, we can hope she waits a bit and doesn't come early. I know how you are about your birthday and know you won't want to share." She was teasing him, of course, but it was nice to try to feel normal in this strange place.

"I wasn't expecting it either. But this is a good thing. We'll have a daughter, she'll be perfect. She'll be daddy's little girl, for sure."

His free hand slid across her stomach and he put his head on her shoulder. "It wouldn't be so bad to share. She can be my present." He was smiling more now, adjusting to the idea.

He was quiet for a minute, but his touch meant that he was settling into the idea and not rejecting it. "We have to start planning our wedding. I know we are a little off when it comes to tradition, but we will have it together when our baby comes." When it came down to his family, Draco would do the honorable thing. It was also something that he wanted and when he committed to something he meant it.

Pansy kissed the top of his head and smiled. She was starting to relax a bit. "I know, it still doesn't get me out of shopping right?" She ran her fingers through his hair. She was happy he was happy. There wasn't much else a girl could want.

"I want to get married soon, then. So I don't look like a whale in my wedding dress." She was still vain, and she didn't want the entire wedding being 'look at the pregnant bride.'

"I know we will have it togehter for our daughter. She will have everything, I promise."

Draco laughed, absorbing the attention she gave him. "No, it doesn't and I imagine you will probably be even worse with all those clothes and things for the baby. Now that Tracy is here, she will probably go too." He was glad Pansy did have a friend to spend time with.

"How about a Christmas wedding, or right before it? You shouldn't be that big yet," he said, thinking it sounded good. The color schemes would be brilliant as well.

"Of course she will have everything. She will be daddy's girl." That was an idea he really liked and he would be one fiercely overprotective father.

Pansy nodded, "We might want to look at doing some renovation to the room. I think you will survive this better if the baby has her own space. Especially because you know your mum will spoil her rotten." Pansy could see the stacks of dresses and toys already. It was likely to drive Draco insane.

"I like Christmas, fairy lights and candles everywhere? It would be perfect." She wondered briefly if it would be crass to wear a white dress, but decided she didn't care. It was her wedding after all. She could do what she wanted.

She kissed the top of his head and sighed happily. "When should we tell your family?"

"It would be nice to have a room for the baby and a room for us," Draco said. The words felt foreign to his lips. He was having a baby. He did already have one but he didn't remember Scorpius as a baby. He wished that he did. He felt like he had missed out. It also made him want this even more.

"It will be a beautiful wedding though, and my parents should know right away. You know that Mum will start the planning immediately," he said, still lost in his own thoughts. There was a lot to do. "I don't even know if I have formal dress robes here."

Pansy nodded, "Do you want to tell them, or should I?" She was excited and wanted to tell someone. It wasn't as if she had her own family here to share it with, which hurt a bit. Still, she had him and that mattered more than anything else.

She kissed his forehead. "We can get dress robes. We can get anything we want. I am sure it will be perfect, once we decide where to have it." She hoped he wouldn't want the quidditch pitch. She loathed quidditch.

"We will have dinner together and tell them then," Draco said, stroking her hair. He was starting to smile more now that the initial shock was wearing off and they were making plans.

His other hand stayed on her stomach, stroking it. "I think we should use that huge deck at the front of the boat, near the bow. We could begin at about 6pm while the sun is beginning to set, and follow it with a huge banquet for a reception." He bent to kiss her stomach. "You will behave yourself when we get married. Don't make your mum sick."

Pansy nodded, enjoying his touch and happy to let Draco make some of the decisions. She had been so tired lately that she didn't really like thinking too much. Besides, it was nice to let him take care of her for once, or at least that was how she was seeing it. "I like that idea. I am sure we will have to invite your entire family, and our friends. I think that should be big enough."

She couldn't help but laugh when he kissed her stomach. "Already trying to turn her into Daddy's little girl?" She had no doubts Draco was going to be an amazing father.

"I asked Scorpius if he would be my best man," he said. He couldn't help looking a little bit stressed over it. "He says that he has to think about it. I know that I am not marrying his mother and it is hard for him. He's still my son."

The thought of a little giggling girl seemed to make him feel better about the whole issue with his son, although he still wanted to make it clear that they were both his. He wasn't having one to replace the other. "She will be daddy's girl. I have no doubts about that. I am a firm believer in loads of ice cream. What more could a girl want?"
