Who: Luna and Neville
When: Sunday Morning
Where: Restaurant
What: Luna finally sees Neville

Running from her room to the upper decks, all Luna could do was think about seeing her friend for the first time in years. Leaving Hogwarts and England had been such a simple and natural decision and it wasn't until she was back amongst people that she realised how much she had missed some of her friends. Mainly Neville. He was her best friend and she hadn't spoken to him in years.

Her hair flew behind her as she ran. Luna hadn't bothered with shoes, not that she often did. People gave her funny looks as she flew past them, but she didn't notice.

Stumbling into the large restaurant, Luna scanned the tables for Neville. Spotting him she grinned and hurried over to his table. Coming up behind him, Luna covered his eyes with her hands. "Guess who?"

"Gran, you don't have any liver spots," Neville said loudly from where he was sitting. He knew exactly who's voice that was, even if he hadn't recognized the writing at first. No one would ever forget Luna's voice, or how pretty she always smelled. It had taken a little bit to get used to this place, and he was at least glad that Luna remembered him, unlike Hermione when she was... um, whatever she was playing at. Though Fred had mentioned something about a Halloween party gone awry, that would explain Hermione. And Maybe why it was now that he was seeing Luna.

He moved his hand blindly, closing the journal that was beside his glass without spilling it, that was a miracle on it's own. Luna was here, and maybe Hermione would be normal today, and he thought he had seen Harry. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

Laughing warmly and brightly, Luna dropped her hands long enough to run around to the front of Neville's chair and throw her arms around him in the biggest and tightest hug she could manage. "I missed you so much," she blurted out in a very Luna way. "You took too long to come here. We've been waiting for you." Luna pulled back long enough to look at Neville. Her already wide eyes grew even larger.

"You're older." Reaching up, Luna poked a wrinkle at the corner of his eye. "And stressed. Why are you stressed? What are you doing? You should've come with me."

Neville smiled real wide, it had been nearly five years since he had last seen Luna. Right after he had left Hogwarts, and right before she had started her final year there. So yeah, it had been quite a long time, and he was anxious about seeing her. Luna was taller, thinner, and her features were more mature looking to him. Of course, she still had that youthful flair that was all Luna, but this Luna was seemingly happy, and that was a good thing. Whatever this place was, it was good for her, and that much was certainly quite obvious to him.

"Who's we," he asked tentatively and chewed the inside of his cheek. We was something he wasn't sure he wanted to know about. We could have been wonders, but it could also have meant horrible things. "And of course I'm older, you've been gone four years! You didn't say anything, I was worried you'd gone mad, actually. There were no notes, no letters."

"Frank and Alice," she said without so much as a thought to how Neville might react to the news that his parents were on the ship. She loved her children from the future and assumed that everyone would have the same sort of reaction to family members from their past or future.

"I'm only as mad as I ever was or ever will be," she said with a smile. "I was living in the wild," she explained. "With the trees and plants and creatures. I have a journal filled with drawings for you for whenever my feet took me home again."

Luna had never been a fibber, and Neville only hoped she hadn't started being one now. Why his parents would miss him when they were comatose was beyond him, then again... if there were people from his future, maybe there were people from his past too. Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser. A large portion of his mind though, wondered how much nature and sun Luna had gotten while she was "living in the wild" as she had put it. She could have eaten something and died, Neville still maintained this was some sort of twisted Heaven. It wasn't very funny, either.

"Frank and Alice," he repeated slowly. "I see. Well, you look good, Luna."

That was true, she was taller and thinner than when he had seen her last. Her hair was longer, and her freckles seemed more pronounced. Probably from all the sun. And he reckoned the last time she had seen him he was a good fifty pounds heavier too, actually.

"They're really quite lovely. Especially Alice. She's one of my friends here. Besides my sons." Luna finally sat down, pushing her long hair away from her face. "I missed you. I'm very sorry I didn't write." Luna reached out again to run her fingers along his cheek. He hadn't had stubble the last time she saw him. It tickled her fingertips and Luna found she rather liked the sensation.

"Did you miss me?"

Sons.... of course. The question was, who was their father? Couldn't have been him. Could it? He smiled at her when she ran her fingers along his blond stubble, and put his hand over hers. "Of course I missed you," he answered. "I would have to be absolutely mad not to miss you. No one was around to tell me about all the dangers lurking in my garden."

She laughed brightly, happiness obvious in her laughter. His hand felt rather warm on top of hers. Luna looked down at her lap and gently pulled her hand away. Neville was different than the last time she saw him and Luna reminded herself of that fact. He had an entire life that she didn't know about.

"Hannah is here," she said quickly.

"Abbott," Neville asked, just in case there was another Hannah he didn't know about. He waited for her response, and shrugged his shoulders. Why would that have made a difference? "That's nice."

Mentioning Hannah was a little random, and he wasn't sure why she'd mentioned her. She was nice and all, and she was a great waitress, but that was about all he could think of when he thought of her. Mmmm, pasties.

Luna watched his face carefully, but Neville didn't seem too excited to see Hannah. Perhaps she should tell him.. then again, perhaps not. "Hermione and Harry as well. Ginny and Fred Weasley. Ron isn't here. My parents aren't here. I wish they were. But there are greenhouses. Have you seen them? No creatures though. I miss them. I miss the trees and the earth, too."

Luna looked out over the vast, never ending ocean and sighed. She wasn't meant to be couped up in one place for too long. "But you're here now. That's the best part."

Yeah, Neville had met Fred Weasley, but he wasn't the Fred Weasley he knew. No, this Fred Weasley was a different one, and he had explained all of this. Nice guy, really. Smiling at Luna, he reached over and put his hand on hers. Her parents were important to her, and Neville knew that, so he had often wondered if she had even told him where she was going. Greenhouses though, that was a plus, and no, Neville hadn't found them yet. This ship was huge, and he was certain it would take him ages to just find the necessities. His room and places to eat were the only spots he knew so far.

"And how are they doing," he asked her with a warm smile.

"Father is fine," she said with a smile. "He joined me in Africa several months ago to search for Bearded Dunglebats. We didn't find any, but it was nice to see him. He's getting older now.. it's not as easy for him to travel." Luna's smile flickered for a moment. Her father was the only family she had in the world, from her time anyway, and she truly missed not being able to see or write him.

Lacing her fingers easily with Neville's, Luna smiled once more. "Do you want to see them? The greenhouses, I mean. Or we can go jump on the trampoline."

"Trampoline," he asked, as if this was the most interesting thing in the world. Well, it sort of was, and it was something Luna had suggested, so it was bound to be fun. Truthfully, Neville had been afraid of trampolines in his youth. Though, that wasn't saying much as he was terrified of everything when he was younger. "All right, let's do that."

Beaming at him again, Luna stood up and tugged Neville out of his chair. To call Luna enthusiastic was a bit of an understatement. Holding tight onto his hand, Luna pulled him around the ship until they reached the trampoline.

It was so much nicer with Neville here finally. Her sons were wonderful and she loved them dearly, but it wasn't the same as having a friend of her own. "Come on, Neville! I want to see how high you can jump!"
