Helena had never seen a ship like this one. It was made of metal! She couldn't believe that a metal ship floated on the water. And moreover, there were dozens of people on it, all from different times and with different appearances. It was so very strange, and she was sure it was the devil's work. Some sort of underworld god was playing with her head.

She had Esme down in the Playground, on the floor. The baby was doing a lot of crawling around now, and it was easy to lose track of her. The playground was the perfect place for Esme to crawl and play, since Helena could keep an eye on her. The ground was soft, and the room containted.

Helena sat watching the little girl crawling across the ground and putting toy after toy into her mouth.
