Smut!

*growls*

I need to write smut. And I don't want to. Though it's the last bit I need to write for the Snarry Sawp fic. Then I'd be done. The boys are getting close to the first orgasm, and then I need to get them into the bedroom for a second one, and then I'm done. Maybe 2k more. Just that little bit!

But I don't want to anymore. I don't feel like writing smut.

The holiday fests need to start posting. I need to read something to relax and get me into the right frame of mind again. I've already read the fics up on [info]hd_holidays, which is the only reason any kind of almost-smut has got written today.

Ack. Where's the porn muse when you need her?

Random things I meant to tell someone

1. My Snarry Swap fic is almost done! I wrote part 11 and 14 today (End!), and now only need to add 12 and 13. Which is the smut and the morning after. :) 31,700 words so far. My poor betas.

2. Went to the post office again. This time, it was open. I sent off three books - one book that I sold, and two books as prezzies. Now sit and wait for the squee. :)

3. Oh, and I managed to buy books from Torquere Press after all. The problem solved itself by Saturday morning - when two of the books in my shopping cart weren't available anymore, and three others (those three that I really wanted) were back at their full price so that I kicked them out of the cart. *sniff* But voilà: Torquere Press can ship six paperbacks. But not 11. Well. Their loss.

4. I'm again full of squee - and trying to resist a horrible temptation. Today, I was able to squirrel some more money away. What with that money and interest, I've got enough to buy a plane ticket to New Zealand and (depending on the price of the ticket) pay for two or three weeks' stay in backpackers. I'm tempted. Horribly tempted to do just that: buy a ticket, hop on the plane, and spend some more time in NZ.

Hey, I could actually go to Hamilton! I could go and talk to Sarah in person! Given that she's the one I want to browbeat ... ahem, convince to supervise my PhD, that would be great.

Tempted. Seriously tempted.

5. Pimpage! Lots and lots of pimpage!

[info]santas_lap started posting today!

[info]adventdrabbles starts tomorrow!

Posting at [info]hp_yule_balls starts tomorrow as well! The modly people liked my fic, btw. I hope that my recipient will, too. :)

And last but not least: [info]hds_beltane sign-ups open tomorrow!

Can't buy books - again!!

Torquere Press is having a big sale. And lots of books that I want are 25-50% off. I want to buy those books! But I can't. For some reason, when I go to check out, the order form says: "We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use."

That isn't true. Back in July, my mailing address worked just fine. And even I know that they have a standard of $ 13,95 for oversea shipping. Why doesn't the stupid form know that?

The lady from TP told me they haven't changed anything and I should be able to order. Yeah. Should be. But I'm not.

I'm very annoyed, to put it mildly.

It's like a list, isn't it?

1. The numbered-post posting, I mean. I like lists. :)

2. My Snarry Swap fic is progressing nicely. Added about 3k today. And a bit of solo smut. I'm at a total of 24k now, and half-way through my outline. The old outline. Today, I added #14 to the outline. But that's a bit of an epilogue, so it doesn't count.

3. Thought about writing a sequel to my [info]hp_yule_balls fic. Probably should wait until it's posted.

4. Talking about the [info]hp_yule_balls fic: it's due tomorrow and still needs a title. *ponders*

5. The other day, I once more came across an old post of [info]jodi_payne on [info]torquere_social. In that post she said that she and [info]chrisowen are working on a fifth Deviations novel. It will be set after the series, will be novel-length, and mostly about Phan. I am full of squee.

6. I won a book! In a contest over on [info]torquere_social I won one of [info]tc_blue's contests. I wished for Matchmen, Ltd. Finished the first story. More squee. I think I've found another TP author to fangirl over. Which is brilliant. I love having authors I can buy blindly. :)

7. I went to the post office just now to mail a bunch of books. The post office was closed. Because it's Friday afternoon. For some reason, I was still on Thursday. Stupid post office.

8. On the way back, while I was waiting at a stoplight, I saw the add for a horse show. There was a bunch of white horses in it, and the pale images of a boy and a girl. My reactions to the add went something like this:
a - Oh, pretty horses!
b - Something is wrong with that add.
c - Hey, that boy looks a bit like the Scorpius from [info]hp_cross_fest!
d - The girl looks like a stupid bint.
e - There ought to be a good-looking, dark-haired older gentleman with glasses next to the boy.
f - Think you're reading too much HP fanfiction?
g - No, bunny, GO AWAY!!!!
h - Oh, it's green.

9. Remember my Assessment Centre report? A week ago, I had another appointment with a Minion and I got to read the Top Sekkrit Report that psycho-man wrote. It said almost exactly the same things that I wrote in that post. And then the Minion offered to xerox it for me. Top Sekkrit. Uh, yeah.

10. I discovered a new writer on fictionpress, too. The name's Qui, or [info]qui_te. Will stalk journal now.

Car Dealer donates washing machines

... for the Lebenshilfe Verein (Life-Aid Society). The Lebenshilfe Verin is an organisation that organises, runs, and oversees house sharing for mentally disabled people. Some time ago, the chairman bought two cars for the society. He told the car dealer that there were three houses that still needed washing machines to be ready for occupation. The car dealer contacted the owner of an electronic shop, and together they donated the lacking washing machines.

I loved that story for the headline alone. :)

Wishlist

I saw this on [info]tray_la_la's journal some time ago, spent some days thinking hard, and came up with my own. :)

Step One

* Make a post to your LJ with a list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, big or small, expensive or free, fandom-related or not. The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

* Surf around your friends list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

* You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not — it's your call.

* There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Fic: Spoils of War (Snarry)

Title: Spoils of War
Author: CiraArana
Pairing(s): Harry/Ginny, Harry/Severus; also mentions Ron/Hermione and other canon pairings
Rating: R
Word count: ~ 11,000
Disclaimer: This is a work of fanfiction set in the Harry Potter universe – all recognisable characters and settings are the property of J. K. Rowling and her associates. No copyright infringement is intended. No profit is made from this work.
Warnings 1: het, slash, violence, blood, sex, nastiness in the past, AU
Warning 2: Attention! This story is a carnivore! It has eaten five betas so far. Please, do not attempt to proof-read – you won’t make it past the second chapter, and I’ll never hear from you again.
Summary: The war has changed Harry. His loved ones have to deal with that.
Author’s Note: In response to [info]the_flic's pleading for more Snarry, I've decided to post this fic. It's not very good, I'm afraid. It was my first attempt at Snarry, written pre-DH. The essential idea behind the story - the idea that sparked this fic - isn't as well-explored and clear as I wanted it to be. I think. You might think otherwise.

The woes of ... er ... well, it's about writing

My Snarry Swap fic is growing into even more of a monster than I'd thought. Argh! 11,600 words, and I'm only on part four of my plot outline. Four. Out of thirteen!

I'm so doomed.

But I love it. I seriously do. It's an amazing fic. At least, it's amazing to write. Things just flow along, and the boys talk, and stuff happens, and then backstory pops up I'd never thought about or planned. The whole thing is just amazing!

Now to finish it on time without killing myself dead.

Here's another wonderful project

This is something I found thanks to one of my flisters. I loved it - even more because it's a current topic. Only last week, the goalkeeper of Germany's national soccer team committed suicide because he was suffering from depression.

So this is my good news for today:

To Write Love On Her Arms

This is a project to help people suffering from depression. To help people that are in so much pain that the only way out they see is death. To help those people who lost loved ones to suicide.

The most important thing is: you are not alone

As I said, one of my flisters posted about this. I loved her story how she wrote Love on her arm, and the next day saw another girl who had written Love on her arm - and suddenly felt a lot less alone.

Just reading that made me feel better.
