H/D with a side of Ginny-bashing
This bunny has been living with me for quite some time, though it kept changing every now and then. I know it will never leave me alone if I don't give it some satisfaction, so here's at least a summary:

In it's current incarnation, this story is set after DH but EWE. Harry and Ginny have been together for some time but aren't married yet. Harry is busy with Auror training, Ginny is busy with Quidditch. There isn't much time for each other.

Perhaps that is the reason, or part of the reason, that Ginny suggests breaking up. Temporarily. She insists there is no reason to be together now. Plus - and that's the main part - Harry is an atrocious lover (though she might phrase that a little less brutally). He doesn't have a lot of experience, and Ginny is getting bored. So, she argues, a break up would do them both good. They could both date other people, gain experience, have some fun, etc.

Harry isn't at all pleased and doesn't agree. He doesn't want anybody but Ginny. Ginny insists and in the end simply tells everyone she broke up with Harry, and why. Okay, she doesn't tell that Harry's a bad lover, but that they are both too busy for a relationship.

Then Ginny goes off and does have a lot of fun, and a lot of sex. She experiments, with men and women and both. The Prophet is probably very happy about her escapades. The Weasleys are less so. And Harry is shattered. He only slowly gets back to his feet and buries himself in work. He doesn't date, although there are many witches - and wizards - who would like to.

Enter Draco. Circumstances bring him and Harry together. Perhaps they even manage to become friends. If they do, Harry might tell Draco the truth about the break-up with Ginny. Or perhaps Draco's gaydar tells him Harry is available to him. Or perhaps Draco flirts with Harry, gets confusing reactions that try to be non-reactions, and draws the correct conclusion.

It is either Draco who gets Harry thinking, or Hermione, or perhaps he sees two wizards kissing. Whatever the reason, Harry begins thinking about his sexuality. He might at first refuse to "become gay" and defiantly start dating (and shagging) a lot of witches. But then he is curious and dates (shags) a wizard. Who might or might not be Draco.

In the end, however, Harry and Draco end up together. Harry finishes tranining and becomes and Auror. He is successful and happy.

One day, Ginny stands in front of his door and announces, 'I'm back Harry!'

Because Ginny, for all she said and did, honestly thought that she and Harry were meant to be, that Harry would - could - never ever love another, etc. In short, she never expected him to a) turn out gay, and b) get together with Draco, and c) be so happy that he doesn't want to get back together with her. Plus, the Weasleys have all somehow, more or less, got used to Draco's presence in Harry's life, so when Ginny turns to her family for support for her plan to get rid of Draco, she finds only sympathy but no real support.

Finally, she has to realise that it was her own fault that she lost Harry, while Harry and Draco live happily ever after and all is well.

:D
