Marriage Law
I was going through my old fanfiction files and found this here bunny. I know that, by now, it's probably not interesting anymore. I know there are tons of Marriage Law fics floating around on the internet. However, this is my contribution, and I like it. So there.
Setting: needs to be AU, of course. Let's say that Dumbledore, instead of sitting on his hands, had done his best to discover and destroy the Horcruxes ever since he was confronted with Riddle's diary (which he ought to have done instead of leaving the whole matter to Harry). And so the plot moves forwards by a year, and Voldie is dead by the end of Harry's sixth year. After the war, the Law is introduced

Pairing: Hermione/Draco (Yes, I know! It's het! *g*)
Summary: After the war, the Malfoy family has lost money, power, and prestige. In order to regain their standing – and their wealth – they apply to the Ministry – picking Hermione as Draco's bride. The Ministry contacts Hermione's parents, who might have heard the name Malfoy before but don't know much. They certainly don’t know just who the Malfoys are. The offer sounds good, Narcissa makes convincing arguments, and before Hermione turns eighteen, her parents – perhaps unwittingly – agree to the offer.
Hermione is magically betrothed to Draco and has to marry him.
Let the fireworks begin. :)
