"Hmm," Sam said, shaking his head in amusement. "As tempting as that sounds right now," Sam said, "and it really, really, does - I don't think Mary Anne would be too pleased with us."
"Besides," he added, squeezing her hand, "I want to get you home where you belong as soon as possible."
"So about this Kristy thing," he continued, as Stacey began gathering her things, and Sam helped her fold clothes, "How are we going to do this? I think I might call her later and not even let on that I know that the whole hospital thing was a lie ... maybe just be like 'Ughh, I never want to see Stacey again,' or something. I think she'll be mad because I won't even acknowledge her plans, or whatever she had in mind, at all."
