What do you enjoy about being here? What's changed for you, since arriving, that you're finding you're really quite fond of? It's curiosity that's propelling me, really. Nothing more or less than that.

Traumatic brain injury most often presents itself initially the same way you'd find yourself concussed - you'd experience mild disorientation or brief loss of consciousness. Given that there are very specific ones of you that get batted about the head quite a lot, I would like to see you at least bi-weekly to ensure you're all right.

People are so annoying to me. This weekend I got a lot of "you're very cute but a little young for me". This is a general announcement that I'm 18ish, and therefore an adult and capable of making my own decisions about having sex and relationships. I don't understand why people get uncomfortable about age differences. Do they think that I'm immature because I'm not some magic number? And that I will become mature on a specific birthday?

I've gone through a lot. I was a coyote for seven years after I ate my mom and sister. I was targeted by assassins. I took algebra in summer school. Horrible stuff like that. And I say 18ish because I don't know how coyotes age or if my time spent as one "counted".

Is it a "take advantage of a younger person" thing? Because if someone tries to take advantage of me, I'll just kill them. See? You can totally date me now.

I don't care if people aren't interested in me because they think I'm weird. That's their poor life decision that they will later regret, because I'm an awesome girlfriend. But I don't understand why people get hung up over age. Can someone explain it to me in a way that will help me no longer think you're all being stupid?

I know the call has gone out, but if anyone of the very young or very old begin to experience flu-like systems, please visit us in medical so that we can keep an eye on you. To those of you who find yourself falling in between and experiencing symptoms, take these following recommendations seriously, because I am a doctor. So listen.

The flu is a virus and it generally can't be treated unless it's caught extremely early. Therefore, the management of symptoms is the main thing we need to be concerned with outside of full-blown prevention. While you're washing your hands frequently and staying out of public areas, here are a couple things to help you alleviate symptoms:

LIQUIDS. Your virus will thrive in dried out throats and nasal passages. Drink frequently - water, unsweetened juice or decaffeinated tea. If the gatherers or the kitchen can find any echinacea, this might be helpful to the cause.

NEUTROPHILS. These are white blood cells inhibited by soups such as vegetable or chicken noodle (any soup that raises the temperature in the throat, really).

ALLICIN. Garlic contains this pungent antimicrobial. If garlic is available, try to ingest a clove every 3-4 hours. Sorry vampires.

SWEAT. Spices like cinnamon, coriander and ginger are often thought to alleviate fever. If these spices are available, try 250 mL of hot water, mix 1/2 teaspoon (2 mL) each of powdered coriander and cinnamon with 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) of powdered ginger. Let it steep for 10 minutes, then drink.

My brother is gone.

I think it's finally type to come clean. This isn't in the confessional sense, rather the thought that it's just more or less a tale of space and logic. You might see a large cat following me around. In fact, I know those of you who got me out of the pod (and those of you in medical, too) have seen her more than once.

Her name is Kirjava and she is my dæmon. This feels so weird to say. We've hidden for so long. She's stayed my secret in my own world. We've been through quite a lot together and though she can stay in my room during the day, it's negatively impacting the both of us. We're really all we've got here.

She doesn't eat or use up any resources. Please don't touch her.

The wind whips devilish through the tents at Bagram Airbase and at night, if it's quiet, and when there isn't enough heat to keep the patients warm, we seal up the seams beneath the door with our coats to huddle in the middle theatre together.

I'm glad to see this place is relatively airtight.
