[Filtered to Teachers]

So, how's this all being organized then? Are we teaching by subject, or age group, or what?

[Filtered to Constantine]

So, hey. I had fun the other night.

Thanks. I really needed that chance to unwind.

I'm not Hallmark (store that sells greeting cards, for those not from a world that has one) or anything, but I've got a little cardstock and a few colored pens, including red. If anyone wants to go with a more homemade touch from Catherine's good suggestion, I can do up some hand-sketched cards for Valentine's Day.

No promises you won't end up with some kind of prophecy on yours, but at least it'll be unique?

That was probably a joke, I swear. Feel free to filter me with questions or ideas or requests, if you'd rather keep it secret.

Tall, blue flannel, black boots. If you're planning on going outside today, you might want to rethink it, otherwise we're going to have to send out a search & rescue party for you cause you're going to get hit in the head with a chunk of ice off of the trees.

Search & Rescue, know that you're probably going to have to go rescue someone that didn't heed the warning today. Most people don't.

FILTERED TO JOHN:
Alright, I'm getting desperate. Can you do a spell or something to make the water hot enough so I can have a shower?

[OOC: Feel free to claim this for your character! Either they can go out and do it anyway or they can heed the warning, it's open to whoever gets there first.]

With most of Jaha gone back to camp we've got the chance to run proper stress tests on all the systems that have been over capacity all winter and see where we need to focus. If anything goes down put in a report but don't worry too much. It's probably just us.

[Infrastructure]
If you're not already working on something else you'll be either checking test results or working on walkies and comms. I know it's not the most exciting work but it's important and it'll hold us over until we can get the build outside going again.

Be careful if you're going out to look for the dragon.

.... And yes, I'm aware that coming from a psychic, that sounds like "beware the ides of March", but I really don't have anything less vague. I'm sorry.

CONSTANTINE:
So is this how it's going to be from now on? Being awkward and weird and distant with each other?

Does anyone have boyfriend tranquilizer on hand? Maybe suitable for an elephant? No? I'm going to guess no. I'm pretty sure Oliver wants us to use fake names, but I'm Felicity. Annnd I just ruined that for him anyway, so.

Thea? Barry? Sara? Your names were in the system when I umm

looked into it after waking up. Nice tech for the apocalypse!

I found myself thinking of my old friend Oghren as I was boiling a new mash this morning. It's a good thing he's not here, you know - he'd already have drunk every drop of alcohol we've managed to make as fast as we could brew it. Even for a dwarf, he was prodigiously good at drinking. Dwarves in general seem to have a high tolerance for liquor, but Oghren was special. Heart of a stout oak and a stomach of steel. A third or so of the people who take the Grey Wardens' Joining die in the process, and the ones who survive it usually pass out cold. Oghren, on the other hand, quaffed the whole chalice of darkspawn blood, belched so loud they probably heard it in Antiva City, and declared it "not bad."

He was a vulgar fellow, Oghren was. I don't think he ever met a female person without making at least one horrendous sexual comment. I tried not to take him in public any more than necessary. He told stories that could keep you laughing for hours, though, and sometimes his utter lack of politeness could be just delightful. Rudeness isn't nearly so bad when it's directed at people who deserve it. Oh, and you never saw anyone wield a battleaxe like that dwarf! I once saw him take it and just spin and take out a half dozen darkspawn in one huge swing. He wasn't charming, but Maker was he effective.

I can't say I miss Oghren, exactly. He was a massive pain in my arse a great deal of the time we spent together. I find, though, that I like to think of him now. Things turned out badly for so many of my old friends. Thinking of Oghren never makes me sad.

See, this is what happens when there's nothing to do with the whiskey but wait and it's morning in the tavern. Nobody around to blather at in person means I'm going to blather at all of you instead.

Oh yes! That's the news! We're working on whiskey, and I was thinking...do any of you magical or mutant types have skills that could speed up time in one very small area? Say, the inside of a barrel? The blacksmiths have managed to double as coopers for us (thank you!), and we've got the whiskey sitting, but if we could make the time go along faster we'd potentially have good whiskey much sooner.

I'm probably going to regret thi I know there's still recovery after the whole Bloody Mary incident but this migrane won't st I was curious what kind of brain scan things you have in medical?

It's nothing that I want take needs to be taken care of right now, but before I arrived here a tumor was discovered on my brain. I made the decision to keep it, rather than have it removed like the surgeon recommended, but if I get a vision overload, I've been known to black out. If it gets worse, I don't want to be a burden on medical or the community, I've already decided.

Everyone pulled through the other day fine, right?

And I was going to hold onto this because the timing seemed wrong in the wake of a huge attack, but I guess you could argue it's the right time for it because you never know what'll happen next. So, Christmas is next week. I know not everyone might celebrate, and that's okay, but it's the holiday season, and most of us are pretty far away from family this year. What do you guys think about a little get together? I don't know about you, but I'd rather spend the day with friends.

I know someone who was killed like Emerson.

His name was Aaron Echolls. I don't know if he's a movie star everywhere, but back home, he occupied that Bruce Willis/Kevin Costner/Jason Statham niche that made him rich and beloved by all. He posed with his fans and donated to charities. He also had sexual relationships with sixteen year old girls and then bashed their brains out when they threatened to come clean. Alternatively, he used public sympathy from a recent stabbing (another affair, different affair) to minimize the damage he caused by locking another nosy teenage girl into a refrigerator and setting it alight with gasoline (me, of course. What, did the nosy not give it away?).

Because he was rich, white, and male, and because one victim couldn't speak for herself on account of being dead, and the other could speak until she was hoarse and still be labelled a foolish slut in the public eye, he got away with it. "Not enough evidence". Three words to level you flat, right? It's not supposed to end like this. Parents aren't supposed to bury their children. Truth prevails. Evil's punished.

He was shot after he was acquitted. I have my theories who did it, and I don't care. I hope he suffered. I know he didn't. It was fast, clean, and efficient - an execution.

That didn't make it justice. I saw him for years afterward. I still do I wanted him dead and now he's a ghost in my head, because I was happy he was killed that way. Culpable.

If you're fine with the way Emerson died, great. If you're not fine, also great. Also? No longer relevant. His story is finished, whatever comes out about people who suspected, people who helped, people who tried to stop it from happening. We're always going to be what's left. The collateral damage. We screwed up big-time, friends, now where are we going next? Is murder in the shadows our legacy? Has humanity really been so level all these years? I don't know.

But there'll be a next time. The calendar waits for no existential moral panic. Let's do better then. Let's deserve a system that works to protect us. We can think the world's better off without the Emersons and Echolls in the world. But that doesn't mean we're better for it.

This journal entry of angsty over-identifying is brought to you by the letter 'B', as in B-movie and bitter-like-coffee.

It might be a Tuesday, but I'm thinking about checking out that new Tavern I've been hearing about. It's been a long couple of weeks adjusting to things here. It's time to drink it away. Who's in?

[Neville]
How are the flowers out in the green houses doing?

[Snow]
There are a lot less politics in Animal Husbandry than there were with running the Farm. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not yet. How are you holding up?

[Bigby Wolf]
You and I haven't talked a whole lot since I arrived. I'm not even sure if you know me. Snow said you came from an earlier point in time than us. So, hi? I'm Rose Red, Snow's sister. I doubt she's even mentioned me.
