The 100; a panfandom game

I'm heading up the committee for the northern settlement, and as much as I'd love to go up there and trudge around in the mud all by myself, it would get lonely.

The mapmakers' Alpha squad is already assigned to mapping out the terrain, and further assignments of military and infrastructure personnel will be made closer to the date, but I'm also asking for volunteers for when the time comes. Why am I looking for more people? Because not everyone assigned to work on the settlement will end up living there, and the assignments aren't going to give us the numbers that we need long-term, especially not with three other settlements in the works as well. I would like as many people as possible who want to live in the northern settlement to be the ones building it.

We're closest to the Azgeda border and the last stop between Mt. Weather and Polis, so even if you're not volunteering or assigned as military, we recommend that you consider what sort of combat skills you bring to the table before volunteering. It's very possible that war may break out between Azgeda and the Coalition, and as the 13th Clan, we'll likely be roped in at some point. If you're squeamish about killing in battle, this may not be the place for you.

We're specifically looking for medical personnel and other skilled workers, as well as people with skills that would suit the military or infrastructure work. Our numbers in those last two aren't so great that we can expect them to work on multiple settlements at once and make it livable before we all get old(er). It's likely you'll be assigned to a specific task or build site once we get started, but consider this an all hands on deck project. Our first building goal will be a barracks, but you should assume that until that roof goes up, we're roughing it in tents. If you've never gone camping before... I don't really care, just don't volunteer and then complain.

We aren't starting this right away, of course, we need some time to map out the area and make a solid plan. For that I'll be picking a small committee out of my available volunteers that will include members from each specialty, and we'll contact the rest of you when it's time to move out and get our hands dirty.

Keep in mind that there will be at least three other settlements to work on in the very near future, with different terrains, social requirements, and levels of danger. If you want to help but the north settlement doesn't sound like a place you'd want to live in, sit tight. At some point we're likely to be working on all four at once, so we need to spread out in general.

Today the Council was called into session to discuss establishing settlements in four of our most trafficked areas on Skaikru land. Not only trafficked the most by us but by the Grounders in nearby areas. Mount Weather, or The Mountain, as they call it has been host to horrors for their people and they are, understandably, superstitious about it. If we're to begin trading with them, we should bring ourselves closer to them.

And let's face it, being packed in here like sardines isn't doing anything to alleviate tensions.

Effective immediately, we're starting with the two most important points along our borders that we'll need: the river and the North pass. The North pass will need more military hands, due to the increasing threat from Azgeda, the Ice Nation. The river community will have to contend with sand and sinking which will pose its own challenges.

Each settlement will have at least the following:

• a military stronghold of some sort. These will likely not be massive buildings such a large fort, but will have those higher points for look-outs, weapons caches, and a small barracks for round the clock military accessibility. We had facilities at home called Fire Departments that ran in a similar way, only they were devoted to putting out fires in their particular area.
  
• A medical facility. This will not be a medical war the way Mount Weather has, and getting the equipment that we have in medical will prove difficult, but we want at least one doctor at each settlement and a clinic of sorts.
  
• A trading post. A building in which Grounders and Skaikru alike can trade between settlements for the things they need.
  
• A small law enforcement area including two cells in case they're needed.

Two committees for the sites are being formed as we speak, and any and all input into those sites will be carefully discussed to make sure that we have all the planning created before we begin heading out.

ASALA ADAAR & ROGUE (616):

Adaar, it's the obvious choice to offer you the lead on the military establishment to the north. It is rougher area than the other sites, and there are many potential pitfalls with Azgeda around. I know that you've recently stepped down as chancellor, so when your name was tossed around, I wasn't sure if you'd be interested.

Rogue, you're a natural leader among your people, and with the abilities at your disposal, I believe that you could form a team that would be up for the challenges that riverside might bring about. Is that something you'd be up for?

I'm grateful for the last year in this mountain. I'm grateful for the trust you've given me over the months and the privilege of leading you. However, for a number of personal reasons (most of which I've shared with people I'm close to, and am not ready to share with people I'm not), it's appropriate now for me to concede the position to Logan, before the discussions about the Grounder alliance begin.

I will still serve the people as Lieutenant General, but my political career is over, and I am content.

Many of you were wondering about the activity reported in and around the mountain last night, and after a debriefing, it was revealed that the entity known as Lucifer who had been possessing Castiel, one of our Podkru, was actively plotting to take lives. Several of our citizens engaged in a fight to remove Lucifer from possessing Castiel and locked him away permanently in what is known as The Fade. The Earthquakes and flickering lights were due to this fight between angels.

Castiel and our other citizens are recovering from the ordeal, should you want to wish them well.

WHO:	Castiel/Lucifer, Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Gabriel, Lucifer Morningstar, and featuring Asala Adaar, Jo Harvelle, Bobby Singer, Kate Bishop, and maybe Crowley and Meg depending on how demons feel like playing today

WHERE:	Outside Mount Weather (a safe distance away)
WHAT:	It's the final showdown against Lucifer and a Hail Mary effort to save Castiel's life.
WARNINGS:	Violence.
OOC NOTES:	The subthreads happen chronologically, but are going to be written simultaneously (hence there being no starter in the main body of this entry because Lucifer's not making his entrance in the first thread). Summaries of what's planned out will be outlined in each subthread header, so even if some threads take a long time to finish because of groups/time zones/etc, we still know what's going on. Subthreads to the subthreads can also have stuff tangental to the main action (i.e. Gabriel and Morningstar after Gabriel is injured while Team Free Will is in the Fade). Timewise, the confrontation itself will last less than an hour.
ETC:	There's an angel battle happening outside, Mount Weather. For a short period of time tonight there's going to be what feels like small earthquakes, and the lights might flicker. It'll feel ominous, which I'm sure everyone always loves. I don't know if anyone will take it upon themselves to try and check it out. It's some distance away, and if you make yourself known, you might get killed, so ... don't let Lucifer know you're there.

Has anyone seen Cassandra? Or Leia? I've been looking for them both for a couple of hours and I can't seem to pin them down.

Ripe for vengeance, Mount Weather will tip the scales of Spring and catapult directly into Summer. As there is not a dose of sympathy for miles, be prepared before you venture out of your rather well-appointed rooms and ensure that you do not anger the mob, desperate for someone's head.

The next time one of you wants to use big magic or a big powerful ability and you're not sure exactly what it will do, don't. There will be consequences for this flagrant misuse of magic, regardless of intent, and you can assume for the immediate future that I am not the authority figure to come to with your sad little feelings about how intent somehow negates consequences just because one of you could be the next ones to fuck it up.

This isn't prejudice. This isn't someone who's anti-magic cracking down on anyone. This is a powerful mage reminding you all that magic has its price, that anybody using magic or powers has a responsibility to use them in a way that does the least amount of harm to innocent people. We were given gifts, whether through accidents of birth or circumstance or through our own desires, and those gifts come with a significant burden. There are people here who could lobotomize the population, who could crush the mountain in a bad temper, or who could tear this place apart in a moment of unbridled power. It's our responsibility to make sure that those things don't happen, either intentionally or by accident, and it is our fault when mistakes happen.

As a Council member, I can promise you that charges will be pressed and that every police report filed about this incident will be taken into account. If you've suffered any kind of physical or psychological trauma as a result of the last three weeks, set up a time with anyone working in Law Enforcement who was not also a victim of this magic; it will take some time to get all of them squared away with the reparation efforts going on from the goblin attack that we missed, but you will be listened to and justice will be served, I swear it.

As a person who has had her mind and her life thoroughly fucked with recently, if you can't find me for whatever reason in the immediate future, you can assume I'm elbow-deep in none-of-your-business and not interested in receiving any visitors.


ETA: Because people keep asking this as if I'm calling for blood: yes, of course intent will matter when charges are eventually leveled. I'm saying that damage was done regardless of whether or not it was intended to. The idea that actions have consequences should not be nearly as surprising as it appears to be.

And no, of course nobody is in any danger here. We do not physically punish or kill the guilty in this community, as per the legal system we were asked to create. I'm promising justice and an application of the court system we've created, not a goddamn witch hunt, and if you read "witch hunt" from "charges will be pressed", then that's a personal perception you need to work on, because that is not what I said. Not even a little.

I find it very distressing how much focus is going into making excuses for someone who cast awful magic and hurt others than is going into having some compassion for the people she hurt, especially when she's admitted that she did cause harm. Respect her honesty enough to take the damage seriously instead of trying to act as if it's less severe just because she feels bad about it.

I feel a hell of a lot more sane now than I have the last few days. Still feel like I'm stuck on a roller coaster.

Erik Lensherr is confident in his ability to retrieve the Witch's wand from a distance, and to hold her in place temporarily. For the latter, I'd prefer a method not reliant on one individual's strength. As for the wand, there is the question as to whether we destroy it immediately or hold it as evidence. It is a powerful magical artifact and one to be wary of.

I was also curious as to what investigators have learned in contacting the Grounders. I know certain matters cannot be rushed, but it has grown noticeably colder, and her power is only likely to grow.

Based on what the scouts found at the scene of the Grounder battle, Susan and Edmund are fairly confident that we are indeed dealing with Jadis, the White Witch of Narnia. If we are to stay ahead of her, we need to begin planning for possible attacks and dangers now. I'd like a meeting with the five of us (and whomever else in Command you feel warrants inclusion) today, at your earliest convenience.

We do not know for certain that the magic can be recreated here, but we must try. We need to arrange to have them transported to somewhere that they will be safe in the meantime.

SPN (minus Lustiel), KATE BISHOP, LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR, DORIAN:

Sam and Dean requested my help in private, but I assume they told the rest of you, yes? I'd like this to go without saying that my involvement and Dorian's need to be kept quiet. I don't doubt that this is the right thing, but it could throw the general amnesty agreement into question if it's public knowledge that I helped prep a cage for someone who hasn't technically committed a crime yet.

Dorian and I are going to be helping Gabriel build a cage in the Fade and reinforce it with binding spells. I can't say how long this will take; adapting magic is difficult between realities, and though Dorian is brilliant, he's also on at least two other projects at the moment. Thankfully, I recently accepted a promotion and left prison duty, so if I can come up with a vaguely important-sounding reason to disappear, I can duck away to help without causing suspicion. I know of a cave relatively nearby where we can set up shop for it.

How you manage Lucifer in the meantime is up to you. I won't interfere if I can help it, but if you get into any public fights with him or threaten him "unprovoked", we still have to treat him as a citizen of Mt. Weather and defend him. Try to take care that he doesn't possess anyone else while he's here. The whole situation is too dubious to buy that any consent given is genuine, and letting that pain spread around can't happen.
