The votes have been tallied, and I am pleased to announced that your two new Councilors are: Logan Howlett and Leia Organa. We would like to thank them for their service and cannot wait to work with them in this trying time.

In the event that either of these two disappear, the chain of command would then fall to Cassandra Pentaghast and then Susan Pevensie. It is our hope that we will never have to call upon them, but we can do nothing about that but preparations.

In some ways, the PodGod must have been working with Andraste to smile upon us, as I received a chest full of magical items from my home. Lyrium - in multiple forms - was just one of the items.

I think it's going to work. I think my idea with the rite has the potential to work. This morning, I got ... a flutter. Almost. A glimmer of change. But I don't know if I'm simply not powerful enough or the stone magic is just too much for it to break through. I admit I'm being overly cautious, as anything that could harm the butterfly could easily harm Marie, and I will do everything in my power to prevent that from happening. It is not a full Rite, by any means, especially by the fact that Marie is not connected to the Fade, and neither is Jadis. It's... magic is especially fluid, and this is a bit like reshaping something that would otherwise be ugly.

I suppose I should come up with a name for whatever it is I am doing, now that I think on it. Something about stripping-

My concern is less that the Witch managed to get access to the comm system and more that she seems to know anything at all of the people in the mountain and their desires. Assuming she's never been inside and hasn't had a great deal of contact with us that hasn't ended in stone, I worry about the implications of her knowledge and what else she may know.

We seemed to have a similar mindset before. Do we again, sergeant?

This butterfly is ... interesting. Exceptionally powerful magic, but we already knew that.

I know we're aware of the cause now, but at the same time I'm uncomfortable with just waiting to see if she can reverse it, and have been looking into my own methods. With time and more research, I do think we'll be able to reverse it using methods similar to the Rite of Tranquility in our world, but I need to look deeper into the possible effects it could have on someone like Marie, I don't wish to cause her more harm.

For those of you not from Thedas, the Rite of Tranquility is a process that effectively cuts off a mage's pull to the fade and draws their magic from them. It's... well, a rather deplorable method to silence mages, and it was grossly overused, but if we could adjust it to merely draw the magic out without harming the mind, it may be enough to reverse the stone-spell on the animals and Marie.

Cassandra, you mentioned research on the topic? Do you happen to have any of that with you? Or if you and Cullen could go over the specific Rite with me, that would be helpful.

Medical has found recent evidence of an infection that is resistant both to antibiotics and to magic. We are all under orders to report to Medical with any wound that breaks the skin, no matter how minor. Even if you would ordinarily call it "just a scratch" and forget about it, report to Medical immediately. It may mean your life or someone else's. Logan, I know this isn't likely to apply to you, as most any wound you receive would heal itself before you could even reach Medical, but please note if you find that the process ever happens to take longer than you would normally expect.

I wish to reiterate what you may have already heard from your friends and peers: please do not accept any form of food or gifts from strangers outside of the safety of these walls, regardless of how harmless it looks or smells. "About half a dozen people were found in that frozen state, and another ten or so were killed. It looks like a battle of some sort, but we're not sure what happened.

We're sending R&R out to recover the bodies so we can give them proper burial. The statues are just like the others. Hard as a rock, no real way to draw blood or any other kind of medical test to see what's going on."

One of my soldiers, Susan Pevensie, believes that the stone butterfly found yesterday may be a real butterfly that has been magically turned into stone. If that is the case, the only way she is aware of to reverse the process is through the power of a lion named Aslan. We think it prudent to investigate whether any of the magic held by others here might also serve to undo what has been done.

You four undoubtedly know more magic-wielders here than I do. Can you study the stone butterfly and see if you can determine what has been done to it and how it might be undone?

I've always been a fan of useful magic, for the most part. A tip of the hat, if I were to wear one, to whomever made the ceiling in my room look like it was open to the sky last night. As much as I hate feeling like I'm underground, there's a certain appreciation for getting to look up at the stars without the imminent feeling that you can get assaulted by nature at any given point.

Alistair and I have some extremely surprising and extremely happy news. Ordinarily I'd want to tell everyone in person, but you know what a gossip mill this place is, and I don't want any of you finding out somewhere other than from us.

Alistair and I are going to have a baby. Late this summer, Christine thinks. As any of you who have any experience with Wardens know, the odds of this happening are very slim, so we're feeling like we just won a hundred sovereigns on a bluff.

And apparently drinking alcohol is not good for pregnant women, so I am now taking bids on my alcohol rations.
