What: Penelope takes her first true step towards leveling up her Rogue self.
Rating: Low. Excessive mention of knives, though.

( I believe that some men outfitted their sons with rapiers or guns as soon as they were old enough to hold them, so I do not begrudge your mother her desire to ensure her daughter’s safety by putting knives in her hands. )

I think we've gotten the alcohol content on the whiskey a little less terrifying. It's an art as much as it's a science, particularly under these sorts of conditions. With such limited resources, the experimentation process takes a while. So while the alcohol content is more what we're going for now, the taste is still leaving a lot to be desired. I've started three new batches of mash today. Here's hoping one of them gets us closer to the victory.

Killing darkspawn was much easier than this. Significantly more likely to have me meet an untimely end, but easier. It's funny how that works, isn't it? When you have one major overriding goal (kill the archdemon, end the Blight, track down the key to ending the Calling), a lot of decisions are simple. You do the things that lead to the goal, the end. That's it. I have to make small decisions now that don't affect anyone other than me in any significant way, and every single one of them is harder to make than any of the ones I've made that affected whole countries.

Urgency breeds clarity, I suppose.

Good news, drinkers! The corn mash is bubbling along nicely. Give it a few more days and we'll be ready to hit the still!

Speaking of which...if anyone has the skills to make barrels (shaping wood, binding it with metal hoops, waterproofing, etc.) so we can attempt aging some of this, come see us down in the brewery. We have goals.

It's a lot easier to heal up from getting injured on the job at home. A trip to St. Mungo's and an hour or two is all it takes to be released for the rest of your shift so you can follow your Healer's orders.

Hello there, new world. My name is Kallian Tabris, and I'm most recently of Ferelden, Arling of Amaranthine, but I'm a native of the city of Denerim. I was a Grey Warden there, but I'm told there aren't any Darkspawn here. With no Darkspawn to fight (and praise be to Andraste for that!), I'm calling upon completely different skills and setting to work on brewing and distilling alcohol for you fine people.

Peter and I have recently liberated a few chairs and tables from a storage room, so if you'd like to have a pint of what's currently in stock and come to sit and chat a bit, come visit us in the brewery!

And while we're talking business...who's on the garden and food-gathering staff around here? Peter and I are looking for things with sugar in them to turn into revelry and joy. Talk to us.
