Well. That started out shockingly awesome and ended up kind of embarrassing.

Which kind of seems like my life in a nutshell.

There was someone who wanted to try to fix my messed up healing. I can't remember who it was, but I know there was someone. Ring any bells?

I'm healing through some bumps and bruises from today, so I figured it'd be a good time to take a look.

I'm not used to being so forthcoming and honest and all that, because my job was sort of a secret for so long. And even when it wasn't, I couldn't tell people things because you know how having certain information goes. Loose lips sink ships, and sometimes tight lips do too.

That got away from me.

I have news. One of the most-effective form of weapon enhancements in my home world is known as fire paper. When great friction is applied, this lightweight paper transforms to an extremely volatile, flammable substance that effectively coats ones preferred weapon in flames, adding additional damage and a measureless aspect of intimidation to one's fighting. Once the fire paper has exhausted its burning (usually after a minute or so at longest), the weapon is left free of any coating, as it has burned away in the process of immolation.

I should caution you that the high temperature of the flames act as a cauterizing agent in wounds: while you will undoubtedly cause people great pain (and, depending upon your skill, kill them), their deaths will be a result of your blows and not from bleeding out or infection. Some consequently see fire paper as a mercy in my world. As burns are among the most painful of wounds, I would not be so quick as to call it mercy. Additionally, weapons that have already been magically enhanced cannot use fire paper, so those of you who have enchanted weapons will have to go without.

I have been successful at recreating the formula from my home world, and have begun production of fire paper for our soldiers in the event of fighting. I would be remiss if I did not thank Dame Evie Frye, as she assisted me in testing early versions of the enhancement and aided me greatly when I nearly had my eyebrows singed off.

My next project will be to create bolt paper - same concept, only an electrical charge is added to a weapon rather than fire. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I was recently able to acquire a very functional shirt made of an unfamiliar material that was referred to as 'flannel'. Very soft, quite warm. While I don't abide by the idea of the Pod Gods, nor am I particularly impressed by the frozen squirrel that was recently shoved in my face accompanied by a fanatic shrieking at me to "BELIEVE", whatever forces are governing this world at least do provide a variety of items with which to pad our stack.

Although the reasoning behind spectacles sans prescription is eluding me.

Chess club, I am somewhat new to your game. Ms. Frye has taught me the basics; if it is allowed, might I sit in and watch your games tonight?

Regarding the bouquet, it's missing one vital ingredient: moonflowers, or as we call them back home, Lumenflowers. It's far too cold at the moment for them to grow, but if I see any on my journeys I will procure them and bring them to you. Otherwise, it is as it was back home, or as close as I am able to manage it.

Firstly I would like to apologise for the somewhat whopping hole that is currently apparent in the wall of our room; it was not an intentional destruction and with luck, will not be repeated. Secondly, I have moved all of the hunter's traps that I made these past few days beneath my bed; I apologise for any sort of confusion and/or limb devastation that they've caused. Finally, I believe that only my belongings were ever on fire, but if anyone should find anything that my younger self managed to singe, do let me know and I will attempt to replace it post-haste.

Normally I am a good roommate. This week was a little... unexpected. I apologise once again.

All right, Mount Weather, it's game time.

Charlie Weasley: If you and anyone else you trust to help you want to try to subdue this dragon bloodlessly, now is the time. The dragon is an immediate threat.

Dragon Hunting Team: If Charlie and his people fail, we're up. We've talked strategy in meetings, and almost all of you are experienced in fighting dragons (or dinosaurs) already. Have each other's backs, don't shit yourselves, and don't be messy. We want as few injuries as possible, and we want to get the most out of this afterward.

Everyone Else: If this dragon goes down, we're taking it for all it's worth. We'll need as many hands on deck as possible, even if you aren't experienced in breaking down an animal. People who know what they're doing will help you. It may end up being for nothing, but you need to be prepared if it doesn't. A majority of the meat will go to our winter stores, the skin and bones will need to be prepped to be turned into supplies, and we need to store as much of the blood as possible. It's going to be bloody, smelly work, but when it's over, we'll eat better than we have in months. If you can't stomach it, doubtless the kitchen staff will take volunteers when it comes time for dinner.

I have had an interesting conversation with Amadeus Cho. Darcy Lewis, you should meet this man. He reminds me of you; I cannot decipher half of what he says, either. It seems in Midgard of old, or of current should you hail from an alternate timeline, there were situations where people of note would spend time answering questions from the public. In an effort to get to know as many of you as I am able, by way of you getting to know me, I would like to resurrect this idea here. Please, ask me anything. I will endeavor to answer every question as honestly as possible.

Whatever is decided with regard to our fire-breathing neighbor, I pray that there is minimal bloodshed in the results. And that the infighting reaches a moderate amount of clamor rather than its current din
