When she looked up at the other girl, Mikasa saw her eyes widen, but she didn't think much of it. No one else here really knew the story of her world. It would be shocking to just about anyone to hear such a story. "No need to apologize," remarked Mikasa quietly. "It's not something that happened because of you or something that you did. It's a cruel, merciless world that we live in now."
She lowered her gaze, then looked over at the girl who called herself Black Bat. "I...thank you. For listening. If something strange ever happens here, I mean after this, at least someone knows what I've been through. And I know the same for you, if it ever does happen to you, too. Tell me about your family, the one who's here but who's younger than he should be. What's he like?"
She didn't really want to focus completely on everything that had gone wrong in her world back home. She couldn't begin to explain it all, nor was it really her place to right now.
