A somewhat surprised expression crinkled her forehead as Mikasa heard the other girl's reaction to what she'd just shared. Most of her fellow cadets didn't know this about her, but they knew who it had turned her into. "I suppose I was lucky," she murmured quietly, one hand resting against the red scarf that was wrapped around her neck. "Eren gave his scarf to me that day, to tell me that I was now par of his family. Everything I do, it's for him. I go where he goes. Except...for coming here." She lowered her gaze, but she needed to say something to the other girl, as well.
Their stories were not so different now, were they? No, they were pretty similar, matching almost in age and with what they had done. "Family is important to meet. Ours..." Mikasa trailed off, quieter now. "I had family again for a short year, with Eren's family, until they attacked and brought everything to a crashing halt again." Her eyes clouded as she relived that day when the Titans had invaded. They had been just children then, forced to watch horrible crimes and deaths.
"Is your family here? Any of them?" she asked the girl curiously, wondering if she were as alone as Mikasa was here or not.
