Cassandra gave a minute nod at Mikasa's greeting and her posture relaxed slightly. Though she had been in many libraries, she didn't draw the same sort of comfort from them that most people did. Almost everyone found them peaceful, quiet, whereas Cass saw them as overwhelming. They were filled with words, as far as the eye could see. She much preferred an isolated rooftop and a starry night, but right now wasn't about her.
Mikasa had something to share and this was the venue she had chosen. It was neutral ground and one of the more quiet places in the mountain. It was a good choice.
Cass listened as she started speaking. Mikasa's hesitation was obvious and Cass's eyes drifted down to the other girl's scarf. She'd continue speaking in just a moment, after she gathered her thoughts, but there was no harm in reassuring her.
"It's okay," Cass replied, with a small smile urging her onward. This wasn't the time for judgment. She wanted Mikasa to know that. "Good or bad, it's still your story."
