WHO: Charlie Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks Lupin WHEN: LAST NIGHT! WHERE: Charlie's room WHAT: Tonks letting Charlie know what happened in the Battle. STATUS: In Progress WARNINGS: Discussion of Character Death. Full of emotions.
Charlie had barely spent any time looking around his new surroundings. He hadn't been entirely serious when he wrote on the network. He could tell the difference between a dream and reality; and this was nothing but real. It unnerved him and being told that the device would connect him with other people in the facility seemed like the best way to get answers. The fact that Tonks was the first to answer him was certainly a blessing. It calmed him in a way that really only she and a few select others could do. Of course, as the conversation continued, his nerves returned. Something had happened and he hadn't experienced it yet. It was clear from the way that Tonks and Ginny were both speaking to him.
Had the Battle not ended with Voldemort's fall? It was possible. The Death Eaters could have chosen to continue fighting. They could have lost more people...they could have lost all together, even with the death of the Dark Lord. It was hard to say. But he felt as though they had reached a climax. He could have sworn it was near an end...and he thought they were winning. Yet, without knowing and with their concerned words, he was thinking of the worst scenarios. Who had they lost? Had they been taken over?
No. That seemed impossible. How could Ginny and his siblings seem so happy, with children in abundance, if they lived in a world where the Death Eaters had taken control of all ways of life? No, that wasn't it.
Sighing, he flopped down on the unfamiliar bed. It was like sleeping in a bunker and it made him scowl. He didn't like the feeling. He was used to log cabins and the smell of earth all around him, not tin and musk. This was uncomfortable for him and all he wanted to do was make his way to the surface so he could go outside. Yet, he waited, knowing Tonks would be there shortly.
