Re: Battles.
Moody was a force to be reckoned with, as expected of the praised ~greatest Auror of his time~. Having only just used the killing curse for the first time right before his arrival, the fact that he was both permitted and encouraged to use it in this fight would likely not sit well with him after this -- but all the same, he flung it around a few time. You have to mean it and sometimes that can be hard to muster, an intention to murder, but he steeled himself against the guilt of that and pushed himself into something a little more shrewd; survival instinct kicked in and over time he deviated from disarming to destroying. Blasting hexes, killing curses, entrail-expelling curses (when he just couldn't mean that kill), slashing hexes; they all flew with guided tracking spells, and Moody took extra care to only hit what he meant to hit and not any of the others on the field.
Admittedly, he wasn't a very mobile combatant. His leg's cursed and he has a cane, but he made up for that largely with area of effect spells and keeping up strong defenses. Anyone around him was pretty well protected with protego shields and the like. He did his best to keep any of the wolves from leaping at someone, since it's a powerful attack if it lands.
