"He's still your brother, no matter how many years pass," he said earnestly. There was a softness about him that Sam didn't know -- he was still gruff and awkward, but there was a warmth in his expression, a sort of weary gentleness that he hadn't had before. He used to be inhuman and precise, and he never would have attempted a conversation like this with Sam. It would have gone over his head, or wouldn't have felt important.
But this mattered.
"You should talk to him," he said, and it was so pointed, coupled with a subtext-laden stare, that it was damn obvious that he had ulterior motive behind it.
