On Monday, April 25, Emma Swan was charged with Negligent discharge of a weapon for her use of magic that caused over 100 citizens of Mount Weather to be sent elsewhere without their consent and have their memories and lives altered. The following day Ms. Swan pleaded guilty to the charges leaving the Council to deliberate on the evidence provided.
Witness statements were read/viewed as well as a book that documented the spell being cast and the lives of those who had been sent to the alternate version of Storybrooke. Ms. Swan’s guilty plea was accepted and her intentions were found to not be malicious in nature. It was also found that over the past few months Ms. Swan was being possessed by a Dark Entity but that she is no longer inhabited by such a force.
Ms. Swan will be released today, Thursday, April 28th, under the following conditions:
No magic to be used for the next two months. She will be wearing an anit-magic cuff that the wearer cannot removed.
Suspension from the military for two months.
Due to the concerns over magic and the use of it in and around Mount Weather, the Council has decided that a Magic Support and Resources group would be helpful to create a better understanding of the various types of magic that exists in this world. They also would like it to form a checks and balances system for those who use it. Ms. Swan must also attend this group’s meetings.
Any questions or concerns can be directed to the Council.
