If anything, I escaped consequences despite the circumstances, and I've no doubt someone will point that out if I stick my nose in too far, but there's a great deal of hyperbole from every corner. There's a balance to be found between being too harsh out of anger or fear of criticism or accusation of bias and being too lenient because one sees one's self in the accused.
