Rolling her eyes good-naturedly at Sam's comment, Maggie shook her head as Josh ran back over, returning to the slide. Her hands slipped back into her pockets, partially to keep her from reaching out for him, because it seemed way too natural to want to do that.
"Yeah, he is...my dad's already talking about putting one together for him at their place." Which made her worry even more about finding a place just for herself and her son. It'd be great if she could give him a yard and a swing set, but right now she wasn't sure she could afford that - if ever. She smiled at the mention of her parents being glad to have her back, and met Sam's eyes easily.
"Yeah, they are...and I'm glad to be back, honestly. It's weird being back after being gone so long, since so much has...changed..." Her eyes flickered back to her son, then away again. "But it's good, being home again." Tilting her head as she studied him, her smile softened a bit. "Speaking of, you look good, Sam. How have you been? Anything new or exciting in your life?" Inwardly, she decided to stay "screw it", and bumped him lightly with her hip. "Enough about me, it's your turn."
