"Yeah, he's got my chin, but he's actually a little more easygoing than me - most of the time. He can be demanding when he wants to be," she said with a laugh as Josh wrapped his arms around her neck to hug him, looking away from Sam, somewhat shy. Maggie smiled a bit and stepped closer to Sam. "It's okay, Josh - I've known Sam for a long time. And you remember what I said about working now? Sam's in charge of me," she told him.
That interested the boy enough that he lifted his head and grinned cheekily at Sam. "Do you put her in time out when she's bad?" Maggie blinked at that and shook her head. "You've been around your uncle Danny too much, kid." Lightly tickling his side, she set him down so he could run back to the jungle gym. Her eyes followed him over before she returned her attention to the man beside her, straightening again, face flushed with the pleasure of having held her son.
"Sorry - if I don't let him run off the energy now he'll be up half the night and I'd like my parents to try to go to bed at a decent time for once since I got back."
