As Lucifer gave his permission, Gabriel let the other's thoughts into his mind. A lot of what he saw was familiar, mirroring his own brother's past. He didn't see the alternate version of himself much in Lucifer's memories, which left him feeling curious about their relationship.
His own wings flinched in pain as he witnessed the lilim carve Lucifer's from his body and he made a slight noise of discomfort. Understanding and empathy flooded through him and a sadness deeper than a mortal could express came to his eyes. It was overwhelming.
Drawing back from Luci's thoughts, he let his hands drop to rest on the archangel's shoulders, steadying himself a little. "I..." For once he was at a loss for what to say.
