"I didn't know that," said Ginny, taking her cup. Instead of watching Draco, she was watching the bartender on duty. Nate usually seemed happy and chatty with the people who came into the tavern, but he'd just lost his wife — and Ginny knew all too well how that felt.
"But he's a brilliant example about playing nice."
She huffed, rolling her eyes, and took a drink. Her feelings on Snape were complicated — she hated the way he'd treated Harry, she found him more or less detestable, but he'd also come round in the end and done the right thing. He'd been brave, even if he'd also been a git.
She let Harry name their son after him, after all. Then again, it was far easier to lionize the dead.
"Have you ever stopped to think that people aren't nice to you for a reason?" she asked. "I don't think you're a terrible human being, Malfoy. I think you're a shit, but you're not inherently bad." It was almost a compliment.
