Closed to Scott (for now)
Well, it has been a very dull and uninformative night. James sighs, and drums his fingers on the table. Talking to Tricia was like hitting a brick wall repeatedly; he had found out nothing except she clearly wasn't waiting for someone, no matter how disappointed she had looked when she had finally left. He's already put in a call to check her out when the sun rises. You have to know who you are dealing with to be able to put them in their place.

And now he's itching for something to do, like something crawling just under the surface of his skin. He's not too sure what, but there's something he wants, a taste just out of reach, and he watches the patrons amble by, seeking out a face or some sign that shows weakness. And then he catches a glimpse of Scott retreating into his office, and he remembers the tenseness of his neck when he mentioned customer satisfaction, and there. Perfect. Someone to talk to. In soothing tones. Something to do that might quiet the itch for a while.

He stands up and pushes his chair in, taking his drink with him - his third, and he's aware he's feeling warm. Not enough to take the edge off, but noticeable nonetheless. James flicks his eyes over to John, busy talking to a flushing bass player, and then over to Nathan, who is inundated with customers. No one seems to notice him as he slips over to the office door and knocks lightly. A man's office is sacred, even James doesn't barge in unannounced.

"Thank you." James pulls the tie from Scott's fingers, and it slides through them for a second before falling and hanging from his hand. His eyes flick to Scott's mouth and then back to his eyes, and he loops the silk around his neck, fingers dexterously forming a knot that he pulls tight, until he's sure he looks immaculate.

The last thing, his jacket, which brings him closer to Scott and he debates for a second before swiftly stepping closer and pulling Scott's mouth to his one last time, soft but there is a hint of possession behind it, an edge which he lets Scott feel. And then he breaks it, just as quickly as he started it, and puts on his jacket, turning away and picking up his glass with the tips of his fingers.

"Thank you for an enlightening end to the evening." He keeps his tone neutral but there's a definite twinkle in his eye as he looks back at Scott before walking to the door and starting to undo the locks.

Scott doesn't object to the kiss at all, though it's slightly confusing. The possession - that has potential to become a problem, or at least a complication. He can't quite make up his mind about that, either, and for the moment he doesn't try.

"My pleasure," he tells James, with a half-smile that might just be close to a smirk. There's a deliberate pause as he accompanies James to the door, and there's definitely something amused in his expression and tone when he adds the predictable, "Sir."

His throat is going to be wearing teeth marks for days.

Complications and complicated, indeed. Bloody mess, more like.

The 'Sir' makes his eyebrow twitch up, just for a moment, before he exits. The smirk would have to be dealt with another time. James is not too sure if this is going to complicate things or be a marvelous distraction, but he's going to play the game, that he knows for certain.

He walks out into the club, eyes automatically searching out anyone who might notice or look at him strangely, but there's enough noise so that he passes unnoticed. He notes where John is now, laughing with a few patrons, and his expression is entirely blank. It's only outside in the chill that he allows himself a smile. An enlightening evening indeed.
