Neville woke to the sunlight streaming through his window, and shut his eyes against it. Letting out a low moan of pain as his head throbbed. Laying on his side, he burried his face deeper into the pillow to block out the harsh light. He was overwhelmed with a flowery scent, and his nose began to tickle. Confused, Neville opened up one eye to find that his face was buried in Hannah's long blonde hair. His eyes travelling the length of her body, he also realized that his hand was wrapped firmly around her waist, keeping her close to him.

His other eye shot open in surprise and he sat bolt upright in the bed, staring around the little room. He took in the empty bottle of Vodka that still sat on the bedside table, and his shirt crumpled into a ball on the floor. His mouth dropped open a little in surprise, as he realized that he didn't remember what happened. He reached an unsteady hand out to Hannah, gently shaking her awake.

"Hannah?" He croaked out. "Hannah, wake up."

She was woken by what she believed to be the voice of an angel. She couldn't quite recall what had happened, but surely she would have remembered dying. Anyway, your head shouldn't throb in heaven. Her eyes slowly fluttered open and she stared up at whom she instantly recognized as Neville.

She sat up quickly, looking around, thankful to find she was still dressed, despite the empty bottle of vodka laying nearby. She wouldn't have wanted it to happen that way. She tried not to blush at their situation, but it hardly worked. He was Neville...the man she'd been pining after for over two years and she was just...Hannah. She cleared her throat, running a hand through her tangled hair, trying to keep the small smile off of her face. Her head may have been pounding, and she couldn't remember a thing, but she was sure the night had probably been one of the best nights of her life, simply because she'd been with him.

"Geeze...we drank a bit much, didn't we?" she asked, grimacing when her whisper sounded like a yell. She glanced over at the clock and immediately began to panic. She would be late for work. She was at work, but she looked an absolute mess, she was sure. She scrambled out of the bed, her hands in her hair, repeating, "No, no, no," under her breath. Then, she suddenly got an idea. The one way she wouldn't be late.

"Nev, would you mind horribly if I used your shower. I don't have time to go home before I have to be back downstairs. I live in a muggle building, so I can't apparate," she nearly begged, her eyes pleading, lips pouting slightly.

Despite blushing a bit, Hannah didn't seem nearly as disoriented by the situation as he was. That either meant that nothing had happened, or Hannah was used to situations like this. Momentairly horrified that the thought had even crossed his mind, Neville began internally chastising himself. He had opened up his mouth to ask her just what had happened the previous night, when she looked at the clock and panic washed over her face.

"Wh-what?" Neville tried to process what she had just said. He tried to focus on what she was saying, but found himself fixated on her full, slightly pouted, lips. "Of course." He agreed without realizing it. He watched her lips curve upward in a smile, and he found himself wondering if he had kissed them.

Hannah gave him her brightest smile and came over, hugging him tightly and giving him a grateful kiss on the cheek, "Thanks, Nev. You've just saved me," she sighed. He was warm, and she was reluctant to pull away from the embrace. It was with a struggle that she made herself let go and take a step toward the loo.

Thoughts raced through her mind. She wondered what had happened the previous night. She knew that they hadn't done anything. She hadn't ever...and she was told that a woman just knew when it had happened. She also barely drank at all. This behavior was so unlike her, so different than her usual habits. She opened the door to the loo and was half-way through when she turned back to face him. She had to get this out.

"I just want you to know that I don't ever do anything like this. I have the occasional drink, but I've never, you know...woken up and not known what happened...I've never woken up with anyone else before," she didn't let her desperation show, but something inside her wanted to make it clear that she wasn't trashy. She was a Hufflepuff for goodness sake! Hufflepuffs were not known for this sort of thing, "I know that we didn't..." she trailed off, but the deep blush in her cheeks probably indicated just exactly what they didn't do, "I'm going to shower," she quickly said, hoping that she could disappear before the blush completely consumed her.

She slipped into the loo and closed the door, pulling out her wand and performing a few handy charms on her clothes so they would be fresher, thanking whatever wizards might be looking over them that Tom wanted her to wear black slacks and white shirts when she wasn't working in the back room, so he wouldn't notice she was wearing the same outfit. Hannah tried to hurry through her shower, but her mind was buzzing with thoughts. She had no clue what she'd said last night, or what he had said either. The thought made her smile though. She recalled a dream where there was nothing but the feeling of being safe, of being held close. She wondered briefly if it had been a semi-conscience effort to tell herself that it was reality. No one but Neville had ever occupied her thoughts so completely. In school, she'd never really had any crushes, no blokes that she dated, but in the last two years, even without him being present, he had constantly been in the back of her mind. She always wondered what he was up to, and when he came home, she woke up the next morning beside him. It seemed too surreal.

((ooc: sorry it took me so long. s'been a busy week.))

Neville was blushing furiously by the time Hannah had disappeared into the shower. He turned to pick up his shirt and slid it over his head. It was wrinkled and dirty from traveling and smelled strongly of Vodka. Or maybe that was just him. He looked around furtively for a moment before lifting the collar of his shirt up and taking a sniff. He made a face and pulled the shirt back off again.

Noting his luggage in the corner of the room, Neville opened his trunk and rooted around for something to wear that didn't reek of alcohol. He grabbed some fresh clothes, then looked worriedly back at the door to the loo. The water was still running, but the last thing he needed was for Hannah to come back in the room while his trousers were around his ankles. Hugging his clothes tightly to his chest, Neville left the room and slipped next door into Uncle Algie's. Algie's room was, thankfully, empty; Neville supposed he was taking a walk around Diagon Alley. He hurriedly jumped into his Uncle's shower, and felt immediately better.

He emerged a few minutes later, his hair wet but otherwise feeling more awake and clear-headed. He took a deep breath as he left Algie's room again in search of Hannah. He felt like he needed to say something to her. He didn't know what exactly, but you can't just wake up next to someone and not say anything to them. He pulled nervously at his sleeves as he went to see where exactly she had gotten to.

((ooc: no problem. I've been sick and catching up on my school work.))

Hannah was thankful for magic when she got out of the shower and was able to put on clothes that weren't haunted by the lingering scent of vodka. She dressed quickly and came back out into the room to find it empty while she was still towel drying her hair. Her head wasn't hurting nearly as bad, but she knew she would be paying for her night all day. It would be worth it. Her shoes had been tossed haphazardly beside the bed. She walked slowly over to the window, wanting to wait until Neville came back. She had saved enough time, and hopefully, he would show back up. She didn't know what she was going to say, but she had to say something. One thing had occurred to her while she was in the shower. There was a woman staying at the Inn with the last name Longbottom. She wasn't sure, but she had a sneaking suspicion that she was Neville's Mum. In her excitement the previous night, before she lost recollection, she knew she'd been too preoccupied to remember the quiet tenant.

She looked over Diagon Alley, watching the few customers walking around. They wouldn't be very busy for about another hour. She continued to dry her hair with the towel, beginning to hum one of her favorite songs, the words taking on new meaning. She began to sing softly, "The rain can't hurt me now. This rain will wash away what's past, and you will keep me safe, and you will keep me close. I'll sleep in your embrace at last. The rain that brings you here is Heaven-blessed! The skies begin to clear, and I'm at rest. A breath away from where you are..." She smiled to herself, and gave a small sigh. She was hopelessly smitten with Neville, but she had no idea if he felt the same.

Neville tugged at his ears as he stood outside the door to his room. Did being hungover usually make your ears ring? He looked confused for a moment, before he noticed that it wasn't a ringing in his ears, but singing from inside the room. He smiled a bit to himself and leaned closer to the door so he could listen better.

He flushed as he listened to the words she sang. She couldn't be singing about him, could she? No. Of course not, he scolded himself. No. Of course not, he scolded himself. That's just Hannah for you. Shaking away the thoughts, he knocked softly on the door before opening it. Hannah stood near the window, her blonde hair falling in damp waves down her back. Neville sucked in his breath sharply.

"Feeling better?" He asked, feeling a bit stupid. His brain seemed to be moving in slow motion, thinking about nothing more than how pretty she looked.

Hannah jumped slightly at the sound of the knock on the door, but her heart slowed when she heard Neville's voice. It was soothing to her, bringing her peace. She realized, however, that he might have heard her singing, which brought a nice rosy tinge to her cheeks. She turned around to face him, and stopped breathing.

Neville's hair was wet and tousled, so he'd obviously gone somewhere else to shower, probably to his Uncle's room. The sight made her pulse race again. He was doing things to her poor heart. If it kept speeding up and slowing down, she didn't know how long she could take it. But, then again, if her heart jumping sporadically is what it meant to be around him, she was willing to have it do funny things forever. Hannah forced herself to take in a breath, and put a smile on her face.

"Yeah. I feel loads better actually," Hannah confirmed, "How about you?" She didn't want to spring the news of his probably-mother on him just yet. She was being selfish. She wanted to know what he would say to her.
