Hannah had been getting ready for this event since Thursday. In the confines of the attached flat, Hannah had taught herself all those little household spells she had never learned before. The fruits of her effort were now on display throughout the Leaky Cauldron.
The ceiling was draped with long strips of red, yellow, blue, and green fabric, all culminating in a large banner of the Hogwarts crest over the bar. Banners depicting the four house houses hung down the walls. A large group portrait of the four founders stood guard over the fireplace.
During the day, Hannah laid out a selection of food from the new menu along side pumpkin juice, a Hogwarts standard, on a long table down the middle of the room. Small tables were spread throughout the room for families to sit around. The takeaway hit of the night were Hannah's sugar cookies in the shapes of a lion (who shook his mane), an eagle (who flapped his wings), a badger (that pawed at the ground), and a snake (that licked the air).
After 7pm, the bar opened and Tom started serving Firewhiskey martinis and other fun drinks.
Hannah was busy moving around the restaurant, comforting anxious Muggle families, refilling the food table, and cleaning off the smaller tables. At night, Hannah's work decreased considerably and she had time to talk to friends, as many other people were doing.
