Why did you apply to Tempus Fugit, and what do you feel you can bring to the game?: I really enjoy games where characters come back to life and whatnot. They're just really fun to experiment with characters in. The premise sounded really fun and I've been dying to play Rabastan lately. I love playing him and I definitely get into his character and the plots, so I'd definitely be active.

Give us a description of your character's appearance: Rabastan has never been as good looking as his brother. Ever. In fact, he is a bit on the thin side. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'11", which is frustrating to him, since he does want to be a little taller, but he's okay with that. He doesn't dress as high class as most rich purebloods do. He doesn't flaunt his wealth, making it easier for him to blend in. He likes that, actually. He does keep himself well-groomed, of course. He takes great pride in his appearance, even though he feels inferior to his brother often.
Give us a description of your character's personality: Rabastan is, for lack of a better word, the brains of his family. His brother isn't stupid, by any means, but he has always been bigger, and thus considered the brawn. Rabastan spent more of his time pouring over books in the library. His time was devoted to bettering his mind before anything else and it still is that way today. If there is a book he hasn't read, Rabastan will jump at the chance to read it first. He enjoys reading to a great extent, almost as much as he enjoys talking about how much he knows. He was considered the Slytherin who should have been placed in Ravenclaw, but he really didn't care. It was what he liked to do. He didn't care whether he was mocked for what he did, which was why most people just left him to his own devices.
He is very arrogant, but doesn't flaunt it very much. After spending so much time being inferior to his brother in his parents' eyes, Rabastan began to enjoy blending into the background. In fact, he even goes for long periods of time without speaking, often to the point where people don't realize he's there. He is very good at observing and therefore understanding people. However, once in a conversation or even moreso, a debate he is stubborn and won't back down without a fight. Failure is not an option has been his motto since his third year and he has yet to change it.
He is a a bit more sensitive than many other Death Eaters, yet he still enjoys the thrill of killing the 'filthy Mudbloods'. However, he will not do so with an insane laugh or a spit in the face. His method is to listen to them plead, then ask them questions, if he has the time to do so. It's not always the case, but he would like to understand them and see why they think they deserve to live. It's another learning opportunity for him that just makes it so much better. He decides that once he hears a good argument, he will let the Muggle live. Until then, their pleas fall upon deaf ears.

So often that one would think people would get it by now. Until it stops working, he'll continue to do it. If something works, why not exhaust it? He's led many Muggles away into dark alleys without question from them until they meet with his brother and sister-in-law. Rabastan likes working with them, knowing that he will seem perfectly sane and even merciful compared to them. Thus, the perception of him has yet to suffer because it is dimmed in comparison to those who outshine him in many aspects.

It was still a special occasion. They had no doubt that their youngest boy would make them proud.
He was sorted into Slytherin, making his parents proud. The next thing they pushed for was that he be on the Quidditch team. It never happened. Rabastan was so interested in learning everything he could, he spent every Quidditch game in the library with a stack of books around him. In fact, people began to refer to him as the stack of books in the corner, rather than an actual person. He is on very good terms with Madame Pince. His parents, however, were disappointed. He was made prefect in his fifth year, but that was only because he didn't harass the muggleborns like the rest of his classmates. He had better things to do than waste his time on people who weren't worthy of it. If they wanted to catch his attention, they would have to earn it.
Rabastan left Hogwarts with an 'O' in almost every one of his subjects. He'd managed to slip on Herbology, but only because he thought the subject was utter rubbish and should have been an elective course. He managed to survive, though. Now, he lives at home with his brother and sister-in-law, despite his great dislike for the woman. He will say things to her while, seeming perfectly pleasant, are not in the slightest. He's waiting for the day that she catches it, because he thinks the encounter will be very interesting. In that time between leaving Hogwarts and joining the Dark Lord, Rabastan spent two years doing what he called 'bettering his mind'. He read everything he could and practiced Occlumency and Legilimens to better keep his own thoughts hidden. He didn't want Bellatrix to discover what he really thought about her, but his biggest concern was yet to come.
He joined the Death Eaters because of how close he is to his brother, but also because he wanted the thrill. He didn't want to work and, while he doesn't have to because of their financial situation, he wanted to do something with his time. Killing muggles is more of a hobby than anything else. Rabastan is still looking for the one muggle or muggleborn to prove to him that they deserve to live. If they can, he'll change his ways. Until then, however, it's a sport.
When Lord Voldemort fell, most of the Death Eaters panicked. Rabastan, however, was distressed, but not overly concerned. However, when Bellatrix roped him into going after a pair of Aurors to get information out of them, Rabastan knew that nothing good would come from this. As Bellatrix laughed, torturing the Longbottoms to insanity, Rabastan watched the Ministry officials approach them an take them to Azkaban to await their sentence. They were given life in Azkaban. It was only then that Rabastan became thoroughly angry. He managed to keep his cool until they were out of the courtroom. It was then that he lost whatever dignity and composure he had left, his temper raging as he continuously blamed Bellatrix for everything that had happened.
Several long years passed until they finally escaped. Rabastan knew, however, that he would have to return to Voldemort's service. That wasn't a problem. It was just spending time with Bellatrix. He did the Dark Lord's bidding until his death in the Final Battle. He was killed by Minerva McGonagall as he attempted to hit Pomona Sprout with the killing curse.

If you are applying for someone who is still alive at the end of the series, and would like them to be considered for death and resurrection, please explain why: Rabastan wasn't really mentioned in the final battle at all. Ever. So I made up an ending for him, which includes a death along with his sister-in-law, though a good time before that.

He always managed to get groups of Death Eaters out of trouble when needed, so he tended to have the answers to things, causing people to want him to come back. What short and long term goals do you have for your character?: I have no specific goals for him, but I love getting him involved in plot because it tends to be very interesting.
How does your character feel about the post-war world?: Rabastan does not like the idea of losing his property (namely, the library in the property). He will not enjoy the idea of receiving the Dementor's kiss as he prefers to have his soul intact, what little is left of it. All in all, he's not pleased.

Rabastan shoved his hands in his pockets as he walked down the street, doing his best not to draw attention to himself. If the hat covering his hair and eyes weren't enough, his designer coat covered most of his frame. He probably wouldn't be easily recognized unless someone was looking for him. He only hoped that nobody was. He had no intention to do anything other than go to the library. He wouldn't be noticed there, that was for sure. For now, though, he was wary of anyone who passed by.
The wind whipped at what little of his face was still exposed, which wasn't much. He thought for a brief moment that he really needed to shave, honestly disliking the scruffy look he had developed lately. It wasn't his style at all, though for now, it would have to do. He was on a mission and everything else could wait. He wanted to read up on the veil that he'd recently emerged from. It wasn't that he wasn't grateful to be alive, but he wanted to know what had caused this. Then he might go visit Alecto and Amycus. At least he knew two people who would be happy to see him back.
