Anne's Ginny Weasley application
Player Information
Name: Anne

Age(must be 18+): 21
IM screen names: lespommesau
Email:lespommesau@gmail.com

Where did you hear about us?: Kimberly :) (Promise this is not name dropping)

Why did you apply to Tempus Fugit, and what do you feel you can bring to the game?: I liked the ideas presented by the roleplay. It seemed interesting and unique. Plus, I had lurked around another RP that some of the players were in and I liked the writing styles. I hope to bring a similar writing style, ideas, and a good sense of humor.

Previous RP experience: I have been in a few RPs, but it has been a few years. I really want to get back into the swing of it. All the RPs I was in are now gone, I usually lasted longer than they did unfortunately. The characters I have played are varied and are: Ginny Weasley (several times), Roger Davies, Blaise Zabini, Susan Bones, and a few others.

Character Information

Name of character you are applying for: Ginevra Molly Weasley

Age of character you are applying for(physical age, if one of the resurrected): 20

Birthday: 11 August, 1981

PB: Kate Mara, but can also use Isla Fisher or Bryce Dallas Howard, if you prefer.

Wand: Cedar, Phoenix Tailfeather, 9"

House at Hogwarts: Gryffindor

Family
Parents: Arthur Weasley & Molly Prewett Weasley
Siblings: All brothers: Bill Weasley & his wife Fleur Delacour Weasley, Charlie Weasley, Percy Weasley, Fred Weasley (deceased), George Weasley, and Ron Weasley
Family interactions (how does your character get along with his/her family members?):

Ginny fiercely and loyally loves her large family. She has always felt very protected (perhaps overly protected) by her family, and has become more independent, but this doesn't mean they are not still very close-knit. However, each family member has a varying relationship with Ginny. Ginny has always admired her parents and their values, taking many of them to heart. Bill and Charlie, being much older than here, were always admired for the bravery and adventurous stories. Ginny has come to the realisation that Fleur has her good points, and was glad that she stuck by Bill in the end. She isn't the closest to Fleur, them being quite different, but she does have a respect for her. Ginny is becoming readjusted to Percy's presence in the family, but they aren't particularly close. This could change, only time can tell. The absence of Fred is one that hasn't waned very much over time. Fred and George were, also admired for Ginny, for their creativity and nerve, and to see one part of the duo gone is still quite painful. Ginny has tried to be a good sister and visits George quite often. While she may have revered Ron when they were younger, that quickly evaporated after her first year at Hogwarts. Instead of admiration, Ginny has developed a closer relationship with Ron than the other brothers.

Occupation: Chaser, Holyhead Harpies; she has been there for a year, but is now being put into more and more games, having proved herself in practice.
Residence: Small flat, Hogsmeade
Financial status: She is doing well, since she began at Holyhead Harpies

Political views: Although not apart of the Order herself, Ginny's family was very involved, and Ginny has supported the Order and it's views. Ginny is very anti-Pureblood bigotry, or really any bigotry at all. More can be found below, I believe.

Blood Status: Pureblood

Sexuality: Heterosexual. Ginny's had her fair share of boyfriends. First, Michael Corner, her first boyfriend, that was fun, slightly awkard, but wasn't very strong as it ended over a Quidditch dispute. Dean Thomas, was her second boyfriend, less awkward than Michael, and it was meaningful, but they were incompatible in several ways, and it ended. Harry Potter. The boy she could never quit thinking about, was her last relationship. The last, the best, and the most striking at this point in her life.

Physical description

Height: 5'2"
Weight: 115
Distinguishing marks: Freckles, flaming red hair

Give us a description of your character's appearance:

Ginny is the shortest, smallest member of the Weasley clan, she might joke that Ron received all of the height that was meant to belong to her. Like the rest her family, Ginny has a generous dusting of freckles, hers showing up most prominently on the bridge or her nose and on her shoulders, and striking flaming red hair that falls long and straight. Her small face is home to rather regular features, and warm, bright brown eyes. Her body has become more athletic the more that Quidditch has become incorporated into her lifestyle. She has a few small "battle scars", the most noticable is one below her left elbow.

As for style choices, growing up around brothers, Molly tried to make Ginny as feminine as possible, but it didn't really catch on. Ginny can doll up when the occassion comes along, and owns a pair or two of dress robes, however this isn't the usual. Most days Ginny is wearing jeans, trainers,a tee-shirt, and has an affinity for sweaters. Ginny tends to stick with wearing a lot of browns, greens, purples, and whites.

Give us a description of your character's personality (for example, are they a confident person? Do they speak their mind? What are their flaws and good points? We want to know that you have a good understanding of your character, so feel free to use examples and make it as in depth as possible):

Ginny Weasley has never had a problem telling people what she thinks. Her opinions and her beliefs are generally as accessible as an open book. The only real exception to this in her life occurred during her first three years of Hogwarts, when her crush on the Harry Potter kept her, in most situations with him, very quiet. There is a side of Ginny that is quieter. This side is prone to think back on the past, whether the memories are good (times with Harry or family) or bad (times with Tom Riddle or war). However Ginny is more of a take-action girl than the moan and worry type.

Ginny is confident in herself. As a witch, she is very good at wandwork, notably so in Charms, but her lesser points were more hands on points of magic, such as Potions (bad) or Ancient Runes (worse). Ginny is confident in her own body and looks, although she doesn't preen, really, well, except on special occassions. Ginny typically likes where she is as a person, having gained most of her personal beliefs ands values from her family.

Her beliefs are very grounded. She believes in equality for all whether they are pureblood, muggleborn, spirit, wolf, or even Muggle, although she doesn't quite understand Muggles, nor does she quite have the fascination with them that her father has. Ginny values honesty and doing what is morally right.

Ginny isn't all fire. She believes that everyone has worth. And this has shown with her choice of friends. She has a tendency to be nurturing, as has been seen with Neville, Luna, Harry, and her older brother Ron in canon. This side is a prevalent part of her personality, most likely learned from her mother.

Ginny hates being left out, whether it be an activity or information. She also dislikes being bossed around, over-protected, or anything that she feels is underestimating her. She also dislikes arrogance or any condescending behavior. All of these may lead to slight huffiness to a fiery temper, which Ginny, unfortunately inherited (probably) from her mother. When angered she isn't above using a cutting word or two, or in very extreme cases a hex or jinx.

She also has a strong bias in favor of her friends and family; and a strong bias against those who have been her enemies traditionally, such as the Malfoy family (she doesn't seem particularly fond of Cho Chang, either).

History
Please give us a brief history of what happened to your character past canon to bring them to this point. if playing an OC, please give a much longer history to show how your character fits into this world.

After the end of the war, Ginny's life went through a lot of changes. The most obvious were with her family. Ron was back, Harry and Hermione were back, Percy was back, and Fred was gone forever, as so many others that had been close to her family were. Ginny went through a not so brief, but not so obvious, grief period. Often times she chose to do her own grieving in private and be there for family or friends instead.

Ginny finished her studies in her Seventh year, and her final marks weren't as good as they might have been had there not been a war going on throughout most of her later studies, but she still managed to pull off decent marks. At the end of this all, Holyhead Harpies recruited her to play as Chaser for their team. Ginny was a bit shocked. Not being sure what else she was really going to do for a career, so she accepted their offer.

For the last year, Ginny has been practicing and occasionally playing for the team, becoming more and more prominent in matches. Ginny has, of course, kept in touch with her closest, and kept an eye on the ever changing atmosphere of the wizarding world.

((Kept vague, because I wasn't sure if Hogwarts was reopened when Ginny finished her studies, and I do not know what interactions have happened for Harry, or any others and Ginny))

Plotting

What short and long term goals do you have for your character?:

There are several things that Ginny as a character needs to figure out about her life, that will take interaction between Ginny and other characters. First, how is her family life? How have the changed since Percy rejoined the flock, or since Fred left? How is everything now that all of the Weasley children are all grown? I think these would be interesting to find out.

Second, so what happened with Harry? The relationship between the two is important, since she was Harry's love interest at the end of the series. Did they get back together? If no, will they, or won't they? And what are the reasons?

Third, Ginny would really like to still have a close friendship with Luna and Neville.

Lastly, I don't want Ginny's life to be dominated by her Quidditch career. I'd love to see her be able to have another area of her life in which she can contribute to society. Perhaps she will help take care of the orphaned after the war, or will join Hermione in a pursuit of half-beings rights, or help out with the integration of Muggles. I'm not sure what niche she should go towards, but I would like to see something like this.

How does your character feel about the post-war world? (The Wizarding Community becoming more open to muggles, captured Death Eaters receiving the kiss, or being stripped of their wealth and property for lesser offences):

Ginny is hopeful about the way the world is turning. Voldemort is gone. Those who have been his followers and helped bring chaos to the wizarding world are receiving justice. She wasn't so fond of the idea of the Dementor's Kiss, but when she thought back on the amount of death and pain inflicted on hundreds of people in the wizarding world by these select few Death Eaters, it seemed to be quite fair after all.

She never had the fascination with Muggles that her father had, but in general likes them. She just isn't sure of non-magical Muggles really like the wizards or the wizarding world. Perhaps she is drawing this from stories of Harry's muggle family or things she learned in her Muggle studies class at Hogwarts about Muggle history and witchhunts. However, she is choosing to keep an open mind.

She is a bit nervous, but excited about how fast things are changing. The world is rebuilding and Muggles are being incorporated, is the wizarding world ready for this?

Now that we are familiar with your characterization, please provide us with role playing sample so that we can get an idea of your writing style.

Be sure to write in the third person, and provide us with a new sample relevant to the game.

Writing Sample

After a quick visit to George, Ginny ambled out of Weasley Wizard Wheezes and down the cobblestone path of Diagon Alley. Mentally she was cataloging the things she had planned for the day, and the things she had planned for the day, but really was going to avoid doing if at all possible. One unavoidable thing was practice. The flame haired girl still found it difficult to believe that she was getting paid to play Quidditch. She didn't mind having daily practice, especially when there was tension you needed to work out of your system.

Tension. She felt the small of her back tense a little bit at the sight of a familiar mess of black hair ducked over a newspaper in front of a café. She felt the pull of the corner of her mouth into a smile. Sometimes tension was good. Very good. Before she really knew what she was going to say, Ginny was already in front of the table.

"So, Harry, I almost get the feeling you're avoiding me. It's been, oh, three days since our last conversation," Ginny joked, taking the liberty to sit down in front of the man. She felt his eyes on him, but he hadn't said anything. Feeling awkward Ginny asked, "Are you waiting for someone?"

Ginny looked into his face to try to feel out some sort of emotion from the man sitting in front of her. It was the eyes that hit her like a Stunning Spell. Green eyes, Harry had bright green eyes, and this man did not. It was then that she noticed other subtle differences, but the resemblance was still striking.

Before the man could say anything, Ginny stood up quickly, almost knocking her chair over, "I'm leaving. I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else." Ginny turned on her heel and walked very quickly down Diagon Alley, trying to put the uncanny resemblance of the man to Harry out of her mind.

((This was an implied meeting of Ginny and James, I thought it would be fun to do. In normal situations, I would not of course 'god-mod' James or any character. ))
